Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
I omitted the bread crumbs and added extra cheese. I also used fresh green brand which I blanched.

Creamy Tomato-Basil Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
This soup is amazing! I used the recipe with the a few additions. I used approximately 2 tablespoons of cayenne pepper which gives the soup a delicious kick. I also added 4 tablespoons of orange juice concentrate (in lieu of sugar+lemon juice as previously suggested). I did not strain this soup, as the texture was perfectly creamy after blending the tomatoe/chicken stock/basil mixture. Please try this soup, it is SO EASY and SO DELICIOUS!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
As previous reviewers have stated, this recipe requires some revisions to the original recipe. I added 1.5 teaspoons of vanilla, 2 cups of sugar, and used extra pumpkin pie spice. With the revisions, this is definitely 5 stars.

Cranberry Apple Pie III

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
This turned out pretty good. I made the filling as indicated, but used frozen piecrusts for the bottom and top crusts. It was slight more tart than I expected (even with all the sugar). I think next time I will replace the maple syrup with Karo syrup, as I think the maple adds a slight odd note to the pie.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
One of my least favorite recipes from this site. I made this stew based on the recipe without the corrections suggested (that was a mistake). The stew turns out very thin, and I did not at all care for the worchestshire sauce flavor. My husband and I ate a few bites. I will stick to my mother's recipe.

Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2006
My fiancee liked it, but I thought the meatloaf turned out very sweet, and I didn't like it.

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2006
I have been looking for a recipe which copies the wonderful "Derby Pie" a friend of my family makes. Her derby pie is like a pecan pie with chocolate chunks. If you follow this receipe, the chocolate chips will melt, so the sauce actually becomes a chocolatey syrup. I think next time I will let my sugar mixture cool more and add larger chunks of chocolate to keep them from melting down. It was still tasty though!
