Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2002
I made this for my daughter's Halloween party and they were delicious! The parents couldn't stop eating them. I followed the directions of the person who suggested adding a sprinkle of sugar after baking. It was just right with the salt I had added previously! Excellent.

Peanut Butter Cornflake Crunch Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2002
I have made this recipe for a long time by dropping it from a spoon in clusters! In order to add more crunch to it, I use Frosted Flakes instead of plain ole' cornflakes. Yummy.

Christmas Cornflake Wreath Cookies

Reviewed: May 22, 2002
Instead of making individual cookies with this recipe, my grandma made one great big Christmas wreath on a pretty platter and we cut slices from it like a bundt cake.

Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2000
I loved the idea of rolling the patties in cornmeal. It gave them a crunchy coating when fried. Very good.

Wilted Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2001
Great salad. Excellent flavor. I will make this again. The kids wanted to try it because my husband and I kept saying how good it was! Thanks for a restaurant-quality recipe!

Billy's Favorite Smoky Collard Greens

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2002
Yum. My 5 year old really liked these. The blend of sweet and smoky pretty much disguises the bitterness of the greens. I used canned collard greens because I was short on time and it was still very good. A TBSP of liquid smoke is quite a bit. Next time I will put about half that amount in.

Cran-Apple Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2004
I get this magazine and made this salad. It is very easy and good and looked festive. I used the candy coated walnuts and added them just before serving. My parents loved it. I did too. The kids and husband weren't crazy about it but they don't branch out much from the ordinary. I think I will make this for our church's pot-luck Thanksgiving feast.

Quick and Spicy Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2001
My husband really liked this but the kids weren't too wild about the spicy part but next time I will make some peices without the pepper just for them. I liked the idea of crunchy fillets without frying. All in all an easy family pleaser

Eastern Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2001
Lots of chopping, but it is worth it! I don't have very good luck cooking rice that is not Minute Rice but even though my rice got clumpy, it separated out nicely once in the salad. Very refreshing summer fare!

Very Easy Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2004
I wish I could give this salad more stars! Soooo easy and good. It kept for about 2 days in the fridge before the bananas turned brown. I will make again and again.

Crab Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2001
The dressing over powers the flavor of the crab and 2 cups is too much. But I will make again with less dressing.

Beer Batter Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2000
My husband raved over this recipe. The batter is light and crunchy. No need for tartar sauce when you use this batter!

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2002
I followed everyones advice and used 2 smaller boxes of pudding one vanilla and one banana creme. This made an excellent tasting desert! The bananas did get brown after a few days in the fridge despite using Fruit Fresh and the cookies got really soft. Next time I make this, knowing it will sit in the fridge for a few days, I will skip the bananas and cookies and just make the pudding! Yum.

Graham Crisps

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2001
I first tasted these sumptious treats at a church bake sale. They truely do taste like toffee. I don't care for nuts so I left them out. Very good and easy. A keeper.

Ham Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2004
Awesome recipe! This one will be a staple in my recipe collection for using up left-over ham. I ground up my own ham in the food processor. This made a HUGE pan of meatballs that I am using up in sandwiches. Left-over leftovers!

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2003
The combination of spices is wonderful with turkey. It smells great baking. I used with crust recipe for vegetable pot pie (also from this site) and both turned out great. This would have been a really full pie dish so I put it in the size smaller than a 9x13 pan (rectangle) and it was just right.

Candy Corn Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2002
I am a homeroom mother in two of my children's classes and this is always a halloween favorite. I used orange Jello. Actually this would work well for any holiday celebration, just tint with Jello according to the colors of the season and add seasonal candy. For example, cherry or lime for Christmas with Christmas M&M's instead of candy corn.

Taco Salad I

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2002
Everyone loved this recipe except 1 person in our family. The french dressing gives the meat a sweet flavor that 1 out of our family of 4 didn't care for. All the rest gobbled it up and had seconds. Personally, I am looking forward to using the leftover meat-mixture wrapped in tortillas for dinner tonight. I followed the recipe to a T but I used fat-free dressing. It seemed a bit too watery after simmering for 15 minutes. Next time I will not add so much water to my empty dressing bottle because fat free dressing prob has more water in it to start with.

Simple Savory Pork Roast

Reviewed: May 28, 2002
This is the only way I will cook a pork roast from now on! Excellent flavor and the pan drippings made fab gravy. I did not have fresh rosemary, but the dried worked fine. I tossed the roast in the fridge with the spices in the morning to let it all marry together until supper. It took about an hour and 15 minutes for the pop up timer on my pork roast to pop but it was still juicy. Great, simple recipe. Thanks!

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: May 22, 2002
My husband loved this. I think I used too many outer cabbage leaves and some of my rolls had a real "wang" to them. Be sure to use the tender inside leaves even though they are smaller! I agree, double the sauce. Overall, a keeper.
