Almost No Fat Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2001
Maybe I did something wrong, but it had a rubbery texture. The flavor was good, though. I will keep searching!

Hamburger Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2001
My mom used to make this when I was a kid. Real comfort food & it is a budget-friendly meal. For a little kick, she always added a dash of curry powder and seasoning salt. That gives it the extra flavor it needs.

Applesauce Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2001
I tasted this wonderful dish at a church potluck. The red hot candies and applesauce are very tasty together, the jello gives it a bright cinnamon-red appearance. The little boy next to me ate nothing but a big bowl of this! Great recipe.

Graham Crisps

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2001
I first tasted these sumptious treats at a church bake sale. They truely do taste like toffee. I don't care for nuts so I left them out. Very good and easy. A keeper.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese I

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2000
This receipe combined two tastes I was not accustomed to combining. Mac and cheese and onion! I love onion but not with macaroni and cheese. I will make this recipe again only omitting the onion completely! This move makes it more kid friendly, too.

Beer Batter Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2000
My husband raved over this recipe. The batter is light and crunchy. No need for tartar sauce when you use this batter!

Chili Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2000
I think instant mashed potatoes could be used, cutting prep time considerably. My husband wanted some meat in his, so I added browned sausage which was very good. I modified it for the kids in yet another way, using no peppers and american cheese. They ate every bite!

Impossible Buttermilk Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2000
Extremely easy dessert. Rich yet addicting. It is like a custard. You can't taste the bitterness of the buttermilk at all! I will keep this receipe and make it for the holidays! It would also be a great fuss-free dessert to take to a pot luck.

Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2000
I loved the idea of rolling the patties in cornmeal. It gave them a crunchy coating when fried. Very good.

Coffee Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2000
I made this receipe in the crockpot, which added to the ease of it. It is a nice change. I hated to waste all that nice gravy, so I thickened the whole pot of it (on the top of the stove) and froze a container of the gravy!
