No Skill Fruit Tart

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
This recipe surprised me at how good and simple it is. I like the open top, it looks so pretty. I have made it twice once with just peaches, and once with peaches and raspberries, which was delicious. I will take another reviewers idea and make the individual tarts in cupcake pans, I like the idea of the chocolate drizzle topping also.

Allison's Supreme Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
I've been trying to find a chocolate chip cookie recipe that is a little healthier than your average recipe and also tastes good. This is now my favorite recipe, I make it regularly.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
This is a great recipe, my family loves it, you don't even miss the crust. I have used other kinds of cheese such as swiss or cheddar which are just as good. I like to add a little sweet red pepper with the onion for color. I also use less egg yolks (use 7 eggs, but only 3 yolks) to cut back on cholesterol.

Valentine's Day Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
good basic recipe not unlike many others I have tried. I did like the addition of the bananas. I added some chopped walnuts and put some crushed vanilla wafers mixed with a little butter on top of the whipped cream. I will use again as a base.

Avocado Stuffed Yams

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
sounds interesting. I was looking for a recipe with sweet potatoes and avocado (both are good for your skin) this will be super easy, especially if I use my regular guacamoli recipe (easier) or a store bought one. I only gave 4 star because I haven't done it yet, sorry, I usually hate it when people do that.

Tuna Ball

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
This recipe was quick, easy and seemed well liked by my quests. I did not make it in a ball though, just put it in a bowl with nuts sprinkled on bottom and top. It was too.

Cranberry Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
I followed a reviewers advice and put the pudding in a 9x13 pan, increasing the ingredients 1 1/2 times so it would fit the pan better. I covered it with foil and baked it in another (little bigger) pan of water at 325. I think it turned out the way it was supposed to, the berries popped and it was not sour. My problem was with the sauce, it was gritty from the sugar. I am going to try it again since the flavor was good.

Pasta Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
very good, I only gave four star because it is nothing special, but just what I was looking for just the same. I did use my own homemade sauce and added some Italian sausage.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
I've had this type recipe before and it is a very tastey recipe, but my pudding mix seemed a little too thick. I used 2 small pkgs of pudding one banana and one vanilla as suggested. I think I will add extra milk next time and less of the condensed milk as also suggested for less sweetness.

Lentils for Stagflation

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
I am surprised this recipe rated so well. I did omit the bouillon cube and added about 1/4 cup chopped onion and salt to the curry and oil and sauteed' a few minutes before adding the water. The finished result was quite dry and bland. I do like beans and rice and the egg was a nice addition to this type of meal. I might try it again with more spices, maybe some more chopped vegetables and a bean other than the lentils. It is a healthy and hearty meal which is why the 3 star instead of 1 or 2.

Cabbage and Smoked Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
This is not my favorite cabbage soup recipe. I did use chicken broth and skipped the bouillon cubes, and I only used 1- 8 oz. can of the tomato sauce (I presume that 8 was a typo) and I thouht I bought a good sausage, but did not care for the flavor. I would suggest cutting back a little on the sausage and chopping it up a bit after slicing it. Someone suggested adding potatoes, I think I would try that if I make it again.

B.L.T. Salad with Basil Mayo Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
the idea of this recipe is good, but I found the dressing to be disappointing. I would omit the bacon grease next time. Maybe add a little garlic.

Sweet And Sour Chicken Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2007
I would have rated this recipe higher, but I had a problem with the instant rice, it was mushy after sitting for a bit (I needed to keep the dish on warm for a little while). I will try it again with a regular 20 min. white rice. Just add before cooking the meatballs.

3 star because I love Mexican food, but this is not my favorite recipe. I didn't care for the tortilla chips in it.

Yellow Cake Made from Scratch

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
I tried to make cupcakes, they didn't bake uniformly, many were doughy. I thought it may have been old baking powder so I tried again with new powder but the same results, they puffed up too big for muffin pan then flatten out. Maybe it would work better in a cake pan. Don't think I will bother though.

Wild Rice Stuffing for Turkey

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
I gave this a low rating because I think it has poor information on ingredients. I used regular wild rice I had, not a 6 oz. box as listed. I think the box they used is a processed rice because mine never got done.

Cranberry Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
This is more like a cranberry bread or dense cake than a pudding. The sauce is ok but it doesn't do alot for the "cake". Not a keeper for me
