I used red onions instead of the usual white/yellow because that's what I had on hand...

Photography Notes: I turned my flash off (the colors are so much more appealing without the harsh glare and shadows created by the flash) and turned my "macro" or "close-up" button on (so I could get really close and still be in focus). I also usually try to balance the composition with color -- in this case, the green broccoli in the background added some nice constrast.
