Beer Batter Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
tHIS WAS VERY EASY & VERY GOOD. i USED TALAPIA WHICH IS MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE THAN HADDOCK. HADDOCK TASTES GOOD NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO BUT THIS MADE TALAPIA TASTE VERY GOOD.MY WIFE WHO DOES NOT LIKE FISH AT ALL STILL DOES NOT. SHE HAD TAKE OUT CHINESE BUT MY DAUGHTER SAID"OH MY, THIS IS GOOD". SO I GUESS THIS WON'T CONVERT A FISH HATER, BUT WHO CARES, MORE FOR ME...YUM. i DRIED THE FISH, DIPPED IT IN FLOUR THEN IN THE BATTER. IT COATED VERY WELL AND COOKED ALL THE WAY THROUGH. NO GUMMEY COATING. I READ SOME OF THE REVIEWS ABOUT USING DILL SO I TRIED SOME WITH DILL AND SOME WITHOUT. SAVE YOUR MONEY, THE DILL ADDED NOTHING IN MY OPINION. THIS IS NOW ON MY FRIDAY NIGHT LIST. AN ODER OF TAKE OUT CHINESE SESAME CHICKEN AND THIS FISH RECIPE AND EVERYONE IS HAPPY IN MY HOUSEHOLD.

White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
I made a few changes in the recipe since my wife is not a garlic lover. Since chicken stock comes 4 cips to the container, I used 4 cups of stock, 1/2 half an onion. I also added an additional can of beans. ( for additional bean taste) and added kale ( just because I had some) instead of savory. and I dropped the corn. This made an excellent soup. I used a hand blender to blend some of the beans and it came out just the right consistency. This is definitely a top drawer add on to any meal. Very easy to make and very healthy eating. I highly recommend.

Way-way-way too sweet. Also if you are looking for a healthy meal this is not it. perhaps this can be adjusted to make it better.

Creamy Hollandaise Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
Many, many years ago I stayed at the Mccormic Inn in Chicago and room service delivered to me the best Eggs Benedict I have ever eaten. This is not it, but with a tweak & a tweak I'm sure it can be adjusted to duplicate my experience of long ago. Way too much lemon to start, but easy to make. I will tweak and try again.

Reuben Sandwich II

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
classic sandwich...Great taste. 15 minutes is a little long, 5 minutes per side is more like it. Try it you'll like it. Don't forget the dill pickle.

Perfect Pressure Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
Incredible !! I was certain that no one could cook a pot roast in 45 minutes. Boy was I wrong. 45 minutes and it was perfect. Tender and tasty.Strange recipe. Who ever thought of throwing a bunch of dry mixs on top of a hunk of meat and blasting it in the pressure cooker for only 45 minutes. It was inexpensive, EASY and great tasting. I'll just have to remember not to remove the weighted valve off the top of the cooker before the pressure is released. I will make this again next week-end while I am re-painting the kitchen ceiling. Definitely a 5 star with a bullet.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
It was a little expensive and a little too sweet. My wife who likes next to nothing asked for seconds. Keeping the wife happy is a good thing. I'll definately make it again.

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
I read all the reviews and thought this was worth a try. I love salad with blue cheese dressing so I thought this might be good. It was not. Pork has a mild taste and the blue cheese overpowered it. I will not make this again.
