About this Cook
I'm married to a wonderfull man who really deserves all those spectacular meals, and am a very happy mother to my baby boy. I study literature and presently working on a novell. Cooking has always been a favorite activity which I'm very much devoted to. I'm very interested in different cultures and their cuisines. I enjoy working on different art projects as well.
My favorite things to cook
Oh man...do I have to choose? On one hand I like preparing our traditional Eastern-European Jewish recepies. On the other hand I am obssesed with international cuisine. I must learn a new recepie every week. I like to cook anything that makes people sigh in utter happiness!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Eastern European Jewish, American, middle eastern. My family came to Israel from all over the world so we have many traditions. Among the famous recepies are my mother's and my mother in law's Brisket recepies. My MIL's cranberry - aplle crumble, and her stuffed turkey that I have yet to learn how to make. My mom's chicken soup, roast, and of course - cholent!!! My Father makes the best middle-eastern style grill, by the way, and my husband makes the best brownies.
My cooking triumphs
My favorites are not neccesseraly the more complicated recepis but the ones which I keep on making and are always a success. among them are: Briskets, my masterpiece cholent, taryaki chicken, stuffed cabbage, and my cherry pie - that is a work of art, lol!
My cooking tragedies
Alas, I have fallen asleep on the couch, leting a wonderfool beef roast with wine and prunes go to ashes. The shame!I must defend myself, though - It was during my pregnancy and I was so very tired!

Glazed Meatloaf I
I liked your idea for glaze. It was a tad bit too sweet for me, but my husband and our guests did like it that sweet. I think next time I'll put in a little less sugar. Thank you for a great recipe, we give it 5 stars!

Chicken Pot Pie IX
What a great recipe!!! I was very cautious about making it, since I never tried anything of the sort before. It's a winner! I used non-dairy creamer instead of milk and added a dash of oregano, basil and dried parsley. I also made my own crust (baked it in the oven like others suggested before adding the filling). Thank you Roberta for our new family favorite!

Mom's Beef and Beer
Excellent combination of the beer with the different spices. Goes well with mashed potatoes.
