Creamy Italian White Bean Soup

I made this tonight. From the pic, it looked like a creamy Tuscan bean soup, like some of the Italian restaurants serve. It was mildly thick, and mild in flavor. Thank goodness for the Better 'n Bouillon I had on hand, to seriously boost the flavor and save the day. The pic and the reviews were deceiving; I think many people will rate a recipe based on the potential it has, not on the end result. I'm not going to make it again.

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

I made this tonight. There's nothing amazing about it, but it's a simple, flavorful, and easy dish. I used Panko crumbs like others did, as that's all I really use these days. So much better, and gives recipes more crunch, texture, and a better flavor. I pounded out the chicken a bit to flatten it, and baked it at 375 for 30 minutes, turning the chicken after 15 minutes so each side would crisp up a bit. I'll make it again if I need a quick, healthy dinner in 30 minutes.

English Muffin Hors d'Oeuvres

These are really good! My mom used to make something very similar. Instead of the cheddar cheese, she added 8 ounces of softened cream cheese. She also added a raw egg and a 4.5 oz jar of mushrooms to the mix. She made them all the time for dinner parties, reminds me of my childhood.

Crusty French Bread

I've made homemade pizza crust before, but this was my first attempt at making homemade bread. I made it tonight, and it turned out great! Very easy, too! I should've read the directions a bit better, though, before I got into the recipe. Although it's very easy, you have to allow time for the bread to rise...not once, but 3 times. I'll know to plan ahead next time, so it's ready in time for dinner. I'll be making this often!

Honey Cornbread

Although I have a great recipe for cornbread, I wanted to try this one, based on the reviews. I didn't care for it. I love a sweet cornbread, so that wasn't the problem. There's no salt in this recipe, which I think is part of the reason why it's so bland. My family loves cornbread, and they didn't like this recipe at all. I'm sticking with my wonderful recipe, and will not be making this one again. Ever.

Banana Cream Pie I

This is a wonderful pie recipe! My 9 year-old has a dairy allergy, so I made it dairy-free, using dairy-free butter and vegan cream in place of the dairy ingredients. Will definitely be making again!

Beef Teriyaki

I made this yesterday, and it was awesome!! The whole family loved it! I did make a couple of changes, though. Instead of broccoli, I added red pepper, sliced water chestnuts, and baby corn. I also added powdered ginger to the sauce. My 9 year-old is allergic to soy, so I made the Soy Sauce Substitute recipe (found here on Allrecipes), and used about 3-4 tablespoons. I served it with basmati rice. Will definitely be making this again!!

This is perfect, I didn't change a thing!! My 9 year-old is allergic to soy - I can now make anything calling for soy sauce again! Thanks for the recipe :-)
