About this Cook
I am 26 years old. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 7 years. We have 3 children. Our oldest daughter is almost 8, our son is 6, and our youngest girl is 2 and 1/2. I am going to school to be a medical assistant and I also LOVE to cook and try new recipes!
My favorite things to cook
My family loves pasta, and we are also huge meat eaters! I love making different types of italian dishes. I am also a baker.... I love making different apple recipes in the fall with the apples picked from a nearby orchard. I am looking forward to making apple pies, cakes and breads!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year at Christmas time, I make lots of different cookies with my kids. I take them to our holiday parties and I also take some to share with my elderly residents at the nursing home I work at! Also, every year in October we go to a nearby apple orchard and pick WAY too many apples! I am always making apple pies, cakes, breads and anything else I can think of, to give to my friends and family!
My cooking triumphs
One of my triumphs was when i made my first pot roast. I took it over to my mother in laws and her husband said that it was better than the first one she had ever made. Another triumph was when I made "chicken nuggets" for my picky son using cut up chicken and beef that I rolled in flour and bread crumbs and baked in my oven. He is none the wiser and its alot healthier than McDonalds!!
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make homemade macaroni and cheese... it came out stringy and gritty... I still dont know why that happened!

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup
I liked this, however I did add some cayenne pepper to it for a little bit of heat, and my husband browned some extra lean ground beef to add to his to give it a little more protein.

Country Apple Dumplings
AMAZING.... I made these yesterday after picking a bushel of apples from a nearby orchard and my husband is asking me to make some more today AFTER I make some for my mother in law! I made it just as the recipe stated except I had to use Diet SunDrop soda since that is all I had on hand....

Delicious Apple Dumplings
Every year we go to a nearby apple orchard and pick apples with our kids. We got a whole bushel of apples this year and after we got them home, we realized it was a lot more than it looked like at the orchard! I made these yesterday and they are soooo good! I have shared the recipe with my husband's Aunt and I am making some more for my husband AND my in-laws today!!
