Shoofly Pie II
From what I've observed all of the shoo fly recipes are highly dependent upon the timing and freshness of the baking powder and the proportion of dry crumb, cake and wet bottom you get. Baking powder pops to life at 450. Alternating layers of crumb and wet, adding the baking powder 3 minutes and whisking in to the wet ingredients before pouring into the pie shell resulted in a nice cake layer with a scant 1/8" of goo and a nice 1/8" of dry crumb on top. I used 1tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp all of the other spices but that's my personal preference. Baking time and temp was good.

My Grandma's Shoo-Fly Pie
I added 1/2 tsp of ground clove to the boiling water then 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg and the molasses and an egg when the mixture cooled off I though it was a little too much topping ( a little dry)..but I'm just a beginner. The flavor was fantastic though. Last time I had a major leak and the wet part leaked to the pie dish. This time I cut my shorting up finer for the crust… leaks. Sure not pretty but taste good to me.

Aunt Blanche's Blueberry Muffins
Allinfun's review is right on the mark. I baked mine at 400 for 20 minutes in a steel pan without paper liners and they were excellent. I also used buttermilk powder in place of the milk and only 1C of sugar. This is a wonderful basic recipe everyone will enjoy.
