Braised Flank Steak with Lemon and Garlic

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
I marinated this the night before with olive oil, lemon pepper seasoning, garlic powder, salt and cracked black pepper. I used only one clove. OMG, this turned out so moist and tender. Thanks for the post.

Caribbean-Style Sofrito

I scaled this down and blended into chunks and used in place of salsa. Were all pepper lovers here and it turned out very good. Can't wait to try it in other dishes. Thanks for the post.

Easy Chocolate Bundt Cake Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
This was a great glaze, though I used it over a bundt cake I think this would be great over several other desserts or pancakes. Thanks for the post.

Simple Tuna Melts

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
I agree that you have to add a little mayo, I also subbed sweet cut up pickles in place of the peppers since I had my grandbabies over. Made a great lunch. Thanks for the post.

Linda's Monster Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
These turned out really good. A great way to spend time with your kids or grandchildren. Though the dough was a little sticky, we let sit in fridge for about an hour before putting on baking sheets and baking. Yummy!

'I Hate Cucumbers!' Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2007
I wasn't sure how to rate this, six girls had this for lunch and two really liked it while four did not care for. I do believe it had to do with the mayo.

Grilled Bacon Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2007
I actually made these in the oven. It was just to hot outside to cook. At least inside you have air. I did cut out the salt as I felt the bacon would add that ing. I also cut back on the brown sugar. Sprinkled a dusting of brown sugar onto wedges of potatos. Secured Bacon with toothpicks. Brushed potatos with oil wrapped in foil and cooked till tender. Yummy, I do plan on doing the grill method as soon as it cools off outside. Thanks so much for the post. A new twist on a baked or grilled potato.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2007
This was a great recipe. Since we made it for a family function, I did minus the raisons since some don't like. I also didn't have any white wine vinegar so subbed Raspberry Blush vinegar, cut back the sugar and put the dressing in a dressing bottle and kept in fridge so the guest could add their own dressing. We also used roasted pine nuts. Thanks for a great recipe.

Cheddar and Olive Balls

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2007
These turned out really well, I did prepare them ahead of time and placed in fridge for a couple of hours before baking since I had other appy's that we were making. I also cut back some on the olives and added some green onion to the mix, but that is our personal preference. Thanks for the post.

What a great twist on green beans. I had fresh beans from the garden. No problem with the coating sticking to the beans. Thanks for a great recipe.

Sweet Potato Casserole VI

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
We had this at a friends house over the weekend. When I asked for her recipe she printed this out for me. I'm not a fan of sweet potatos but this was good and even my picky three year old had seconds. Thanks for the post.

Sharktooth Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2007
I've been looking for dishes that are easy to make and reheat well to take to work for lunch. I'm sick of fast food and sandwiches. I did add extra liquid since pasta absorbs liquid and I didn't want it dry when reheated, I also added a handful of frozen peas and carrots to add more veggies to my diet. After taste testing it I was hard pressed not to eat it after it was cooked. This heated up well in the microwave for lunch. Yummy! Thanks for the post.

Easy Chicken Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2007
After reading the reviews I realized what a great base recipe Marion has provided. You add or delete to your personal preference. I like to cut my chicken breast into cubes while frozen since it's easier to cut and it makes less mess and let them thaw in fridge. I added lemon pepper, garlic powder, a little salt and fresh ground black pepper to ziplock bag with chicken and tossed to coat. I used one tbsp of butter and 2 tbsp of olive oil and sauteed chicken till just about cooked through. In place of the bouillon and water I also used low sodium chicken broth. I used 1 can of cream of mushroom and 1 can of cream of chicken 99% fat free since I only had one can of each on hand. I also diced up a small onion and added one can of mushrooms. This turned out really good so thanks again Marion for a recipe that can be tweaked to everyones preference.
