I'm a prep cook 5 days a week at a busy restaraunt, and the rest of my time goes to painting and working in my garden. I love to cook for my husband, who willingly tries anything I make! I am an avid vegetarian, and have been for almost 15 years.
My favorite things to cook
Anything Italian, stir- fries, homemade bread, pad thai, manicotti, soups and stews that marinate for hours and make the house smell delicious!, pies and cakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas season we make Christmas cookies and take them to our neighbors. A new tradition I started is growing our own herbs and some vegetables.
My cooking triumphs
Butternut squash soup from scratch-- It took me about three hours to prep and it was quite a soup!
My cooking tragedies
the cookies I've burnt, the sauces I've scalded! The list is endless! But you know how they say, practice makes perfect-- I'm a good example of that. I only get better once I've made a dish a couple times!
