About this Cook
I am a nurse working ridiculous shifts at our local hospital. I am newly married with no children, putting them off for the time being to enjoy luxurious holidays (we'll be back to camping when we have children!). Enjoy playing golf, and obviously cooking in my spare time.
My favorite things to cook
Italian - anything with pasta, risotto, pizzas. Love making soups, and indian dishes. Love vegetables, raw, roasted, stir-fried, boiled, steamed, etc, etc. Will attempt to make desserts - these are usually where I fail dismally!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Always remember coming home from school and Mum had been baking, rich fruit cakes, carrot cakes, fairy cakes, the best apple pies in the world, etc. Such lovely smells!!! Always had all food cooked from scratch, big meat pies, casseroles, etc. Wholesome food, none of this processed rubbish that is so easy to cook nowadays!

Make a mean roasted red pepper and plum tomato soup!
My cooking tragedies
Once when I was at school, I cooked at chocolate cake that collapsed as soon as I took it out of the oven. My family thought it was hilarious and took photo's of the offending "cow-pat" - never lived it down to this day. Also, when I was at university, I was a bit over zeleous cooking a curry, set the fire alarm off, and my whole halls (around 300 people)had to be evacuated - Oh the shame!!!

Baked Macaroni and Cheese I
Loved this bake - added more flavour with the onions, garlic and bacon than just plain old macaroni cheese. As others have done, I cooked everything in one pan at the same time. Compliments to the chef from the girls at work, too!!! Very enjoyable!

Bourbon Glaze
After my husband had stopped moaning about me pinching his bourbon, he went on and on about how tasty this sauce is! Definately a winner in our house! Keep tasting it as you're making the sauce as one flavour can over-power the other if you add too much. Will make again.

Risotto with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Mozzarella
This was the first risotto I'd ever made - easier than I thought. The cheese made it sticky, but the tomatoes added a lovely flavour - will make this again.
