About this Cook
I write/craft (jewelry, knits and clothes) that I do sell. That keeps me pretty busy so I work part-time as a Health Care Aide. I am married, no kids (not sure about that part just yet), and am looking forward to travelling doing volunteer work soon in Central America.
My favorite things to cook
I love making vegetarian cuisine (I'm vegetarian, surprise, lol) for people who love their meat, not to make them veg, just to show them that we eat well too. (and we DO). Fav's are Lasagna, Peanut Soup, Chili, Spaghetti sauce, pizza (secret recipe, it's in the sauce--everyone wants the recipe but I'm not telling!) too many more to list!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's side of the family is French so we do a lot of Tourtiere's (meat pies, I know the veg thing, lol) but we also make amazing desserts. My Dad's side is Ukrainian and I've had fun converting my Baba's recipe's into meatless dishes.

Tres Leches Cake
made this for my husband's birthday-the directions were easy to follow and the result was a really delicious cake! I was skeptical about the milk mixture-it took a while to absorb and never did fully, even having removed 1 cup of it. I only made two slight adjustments-For the flour, I used cake flour-seems like it just helps in keeping a lighter cake, well, light! I also used super fine sugar-it disolves easier and doesn't weigh down the cake, especially when you add it to the egg whites. It was fantastic tasting! Will make it again in a heart beat!

Banana Loaf
So far, the best banana bread recipe I've tried! I love that it's very simple. I have an infant, so I don't have a lot of time to bake--which I love doing--but this recipe makes it totally possible to make something really delicious!
