I have lived all over the world, including 10 years in New Mexico, where I learned the unique style of Mexican cooking there with local ingredients. My husband was allergic to dairy, so I learned to cook and bake from scratch so he could enjoy more foods ordinarily off limits.
My favorite things to cook
New Mexican (enchiladas, burritos, green chile stew), Tex Mex (tacos, tamales). Indian food. Grilling (anything and everything). Basically anything that tastes good when you are done!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's sour dough pancakes on Christmas morning. My grandmother's cucumber sandwiches at family reunions. Christmas eve dinner is the tradition I'm passing on to my children.
