Yes, VERY cake-like but good and something a little different. Made as directed.

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
I didn't add the half cup of butter and I used Cheddar Sunchips as that was all I had on hand. Turned out great! Everyone loved them.

Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
I made this recipe exactly as stated and although it tasted fine it definetly wasn't five star worthy. We had family over and there were seven people that had a bowl and not one was like, oh my gosh! My mother has a recipe much easier and tastes better.

Creamy Ice Coffee

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2007
Oh my gosh this is so DELISH! I didn't even add all the ingrediants - just the coffee, milk, cream and sugar. The cream I used however was french vanilla and seriously it is the closest thing to a Starbucks Vanilla Frap that I could ever imagine. And I can have it in a PITCHER in my fridge for less than a buck!!!! I am SOOOO happy!!!!

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2007
Oh my word this chicken salad is SO amazing! My Aunt made this for a baby shower only her recipe didn't call for parsley so I made it without that and also a half cup of whip cream instead of the heavy cream. (That couldn't have made much difference in the flavor though.) Anyway, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff!!!

Brenda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2007
This was my first attempt at lasagna and it turned out great. I threw in some extra garlic and chopped onion. You will DEFINITELY need more sauce! I dumped in a 26 oz jar and then ended up adding about another 8 oz. It also made so much that it filled a 9x13 and then also a square pan (which I needed the rest of the second jar of sauce for). Husband loved it, me too! Will make again!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
I made it exactly as stated though I did rub it with garlic salt and pepper before putting it in. About two hours before dinner I tasted it and it WAS rather bland like some of the reviews had stated so I threw in some worcestershire and a little oregano, basil, and garlic salt. I think it would have been better with maybe half the amount of beer because it made it a little bitter or something. My husband thought so too. You could definitely taste the beer in it, so if you don't like it, maybe half the beer. The meat was very tender but will probably try another recipe before I make this again.

My Sausage Chowder

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
I made the recipe exactly as stated and it turned out fine, I just wasn't big on the flavor. Maybe it's my fault for expecting something else. My almost two year old who loves soup only took a couple bites. My husband said it was okay but it was missing something. I'm not good at just throwing things in but somebody could probably come up with something to make it awesome. Ended up throwing half of it away...

Cilantro Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: May 26, 2006
This recipe is delish! Made exactly as stated except used green pepper instead of red. Tastes like a restaurant recipe! Even better the days after. My husband wouldn't have given it 5 stars but he's not a veggie guy. =( The only thing I wish I'd have known was how HUGE a batch this made. It's not for "just the two of us" unless you both love it and could eat it for a few days.
