Fantastic Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
Excellent! I followed all the ingredients to the letter but simplified the prep. I sauteed the onion, garlic, turkey then threw everything in the slow cooker. I let it simmer all day when I was at work (11+ hours - tricky to find recipes that can cook for that long without drying) and it was fabulous!

Cabbage Beef Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
Very tasty! I made this soup for my sick fiance and as it was cooking, he exclaimed, "Yuck! It smells like cabbage in here, I hate cabbage!" A few hours later - he was demolishing the soup. I believe he ate all of it except one bowl; my bowl! I used crushed tomatoes rather than tomato sauce which made a very thick base for the soup. the reason I have to knock it down a peg is because it was very hard to fit all the ingredients in the slow cooker. I have an average to large size cooker and I could barely get the lid on with all the cabbage. It managed to cook down a bit but it was touch and go for a bit.

Meh - just okay. Used sausage and that added a lot of flavor but recipe is missing something.

Caribbean Holiday Shrimp

Great! Easy and refreshing! My husband accidentally left shrimp to thaw on the counter overnight after a lat night grocery run and this recipe was a shrimp-saver!

I had 3 pounds ground pork to use.... Tasty recipe. Added chicken broth and a can of V8 because it was so thick. Frozen lima beans a a pretty addition at the end!

Just okay. I think I like my beef tangy-er and this was almost sweet with no bite.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
Excellent chicken! After reading other reviews, I added a lot more spices (montreal seasoning and garlic). The chicken was moist and delicious! The only problem was that it fell apart when I was trying to get it out of the crock pot. YUM!

Wine Marinade

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2015
I used equal parts soy sauce (lite) and old Shiraz. This is a tasty way to used wine that is past it's drinking prime.
