Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2014
A bit bland, but liked the consistency. Will try again, but maybe with some spiced added. We did enjoy it cold the next day with some Italian dressing, as suggested by another reviewer.

Creamy Succotash with Bacon, Thyme and Chives

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
I undercooked my beans, but even then... it was fantastic. I don't know that the cream was as thick as I'd like, but I worry that any thicker and the dish would become a 'heavy' dish. Flavors were just like husband remembers as a kid (native southerner). Will DEFINITELY be making again!

Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
It was ok... bland, but would be a good base for a recipe enhanced with lots of spices or herbs added.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2013
I used boneless country ribs and the meat shredded beautifully and was tender after exactly 4 hours in the crockpot. We used Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, but still looking for the perfect bottled bbq sauce. Will serve again, but for a family of 3, will make only 1/2 next time.

Alice Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2013
Quite delicious... made it last week and family already begging to have it again this week! My changes: added 1/3 c. onion, sauteed together with mushrooms. On top of chicken (almost fully broiled already w/just Worcestershire), add first bacon, then onions/mushrooms, then honey mustard dressing, then cheese and broiled alogether. Worked out great to use leftover Bojangles honey mustard dressing/dip packets.

Bacon Mushroom Swiss Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
Fantastic - Moist and delicious. Split into two smaller loaf pans and cooked for less time. Good enough to serve at 'fancy' meals... even though its meatloaf!

Rib Eye Steaks with a Soy and Ginger Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2010
Tasty, but a bit too sweet, that the flavor of the steak was masked too much. Might try again, but without the maple syrup.

Lemony Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
Only had lemon concentrate on hand so used pineapple juice and included pineapple chunks in salad. Light and refreshing. Happy family.

Basil Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2008
Made exactly to recipe and served with sweet potatoes. Very, very tasty. The chops were a bit dry - so maybe I'll reduce the heat of stovetop. My son ate every bite!

Stuffed Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
I made a couple small changes to the recipe, thanks to the suggestions of other reviewers - and this was fantastic! To save time, I used stuffing mix from a box instead of the bread cube mix. It did make it too salty, so I'll likely try the bread cube mix next time. I also followed someone's suggestion to slice pockets inside the thick pork chops and stuff them before browning in the skillet. It wasn't nearly as messy as I thought they would be. This was the best comfort food we'd had in a long time! It took everything in me to keep from eating two chops myself!

Torsk

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
This really did taste like lobster tail. I was impressed. Had a hard time keeping the fish from falling to pieces in the boiling water, so when it was laid out on the cookie sheet, it looked a mess, but I actually think it made it extra good because there were more crispy edges. Hubby doesn't eat fish and liked it too, but said it was rich.

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
This was fantastic! Very quick and easy to make and a big hit all around. Using ideas from other reviewers, I reduced the milk to 1-1/2 cups and added 1/2 cup sour cream, as well as added 1/4 cup finely chopped orange pepper and 2 finely chopped shallots. I was jealous there was only enough leftovers for one of us to take to work for lunch today. :(
