Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2007
This gets 5 stars, even though I didn't follow the recipe exactly--I only had yukon gold potatoes, cut into about 1/2 inch strips, omitted chili powder, used cayenne instead, shook all together in a ziplock. Also, I didn't use any oil, just sprayed pretty heavily with Pam. Baked like the others said at 400 and turned them after 15 min. (on convection oven setting)--perfect!! Served with sour cream with dried parsley flakes for dipping. We loved these with our Friday night burgers!

Mediterranean Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2007
This was really good, and like another reviewer said, ya gotta watch it when doing the 30 sec. garlic thing, and adding onion, it did want to get dry. It turned out just delicious, but I forgot to drain one of the jars of diced tomatoes I had to use (no fresh on hand), and my husband felt that it could be spicier. Very good with fresh parsley stirred in, we served with rosemary roasted potatoes. Thank you for the recipe, we'll definitely make again.

Chicken Korma II

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
Really good! I've never cooked Indian food before, I knew I was in love when I got a whiff of the blended fresh garlic and ginger. I didn't have cashews, but did have a packet of the oven roasted almonds, I processed those with fat free half/half and yogurt, worked out great. Next time, we probably would use a jar of sliced tomatoes, rather than sauce, just to "chunk" it up some. Thanks for a great recipe!

Chicken Vesuvio

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
Wow, this was amazing. I only had dried rosemary, regular white potatoes, and merlot; put in a lasagna pan so everything could spread out better. I didn't change anything else, and look forward to trying it exactly as written. I kept predicting that the potatoes weren't going to be done along with the chicken, but it was perfect, almost a Greek/Italian/middle east medley. Thank you so much!

Boy did we love this! Thanks to spiderfarmer for the topping tip (mushrooms, brandy & shallots), that really made it just perfection. My husband was most impressed.

Savory Vegetable Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
I'm with the others on this one for sure, it is just wonderful. Couldn't believe the Italian dressing, but it really made the stew! I later thought I could've added other ingredients, more veggies, etc., but why bother? It doesn't really need it. Thanks so much.

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
I did like everyone else and refrigerated the breaded raw chicken before cooking- that really does work well. I didn't fry the chicken, just baked on a cookie sheet about 20 minutes, before putting the whole thing together in a lasagna pan. I also added the jack cheese during the last 5 minutes, as others suggested. My husband thought he didn't care for chicken parm, but this was a real hit. It turned out perfect, crispy and moist. Thank you Alicia

Laura's Lush Pasta Mix

We loved this - used leftover grilled steak cut into strips, left off the peppers (husband dislikes), and stirred some alfredo sauce (recipe from the site, II, I think)into penne pasta, just amazing! Thank you!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
Well another 5-stars for this one!! I, too, cooked a leftover ham bone, chopped off the meat, and used the stock in place of water. Also used fat free half & half instead of milk. Served with homemade cornbread, the best!

Chicken Tava from Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
ok, I thought I could pull this off with boneless chicken breasts (we don't care for thighs), and found that the potatoes just wouldn't get done along with the chicken. I pulled the chicken out, and kept cooking the vegetables up to the designated 1 1/2 hours, but then the potatoes still weren't completely done. However, the taste was excellent, the chicken came out perfect,my husband and I both loved it. Didn't feel like extra spices were needed, I was glad I didn't "tweak" it any. I will experiment next time, maybe pre-cook the potatoes a bit, because this is well worth it! Thanks for the post.

Tangy Sliced Pork Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
This was a great alternative to plain old bbq sauce coated pork leftovers. After reading reviews, I decided it was best to just follow the recipe as written, I was glad I did, too. My husband went nuts! Thank you.

Chicken Pasta Salad II

This was great! How unusual at first bite, but delicious. Didn't have any frozen corn so I thawed out frozen peas. I also used small pasta shells instead. Wonderful leftovers, too.

Sauerbraten Klopse (Sauerbraten Meatballs)

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2006
We really enjoyed these, everything was going perfect until I added the flour/water mixture, it didn't seem to break down like it should. I consider myself a "sauce queen" and sort of expected trouble from thickening the sauce that way. Maybe the temp wasn't high enough; anyway this recipe is well worth the trouble to figure out a minor detail like this!

Tuna Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
I'm giving this only a "4 star" rating, because I'm not much of a tuna casserole freak - however, my husband absolutely loved this and said it reminded him of old time deli tuna melts (he gives it a 5+). This also was great leftover!

Braciola II

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
What a wonderful sauce! We used top round instead, and added bread crumbs and parm/romano to the meat roll, but other than that, followed exactly. This just turned out perfectly, and we were going crazy with the good smells throughout the house. This is a great one to impress your friends and family!
