I am 47 and was raised in Alaska then lived in Seattle for fifteen years. I am somewhat new to Lewis county (Ive live here six years) and newly married to a wonderful Glenoma man who has three children and I have two, all grow except one who is fourteen and a picky eater. We have six grandchildren and one more on the way. I love to take my time in cooking but since I work full time I don't have that pleasure to often.
My favorite things to cook
All things Pasta. I love to try new recipes, that is why I enjoy this site so much. Since my family is willing to try almost anything and haven't any qualms about telling me if they like it or not. my hubby is a country meat and taters kinda guy so I am showing him that there are is a world of different flavors out there.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Steaks and fresh caught Crab over the campfire. We never had a BBQ, it was always alderwood for my dad. My mom ground her own wheat and made fresh bread each week. I always baked cookies when I babysat and dad would share them with his guys at his shop. They even ate my mistakes and said "do it again Tam"
My cooking triumphs
Learning to make Grandma's Potato Salad. Pretty much everything that I make that my family likes is a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
I once forgot a Corned Beef in a pressure cooker. I will never forget that smell.
