Potato Chips

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
I decided to give these a try after reading both the good and bad reviews. They turned out great. I think the people who had the bad reviews didn't properly oil the potatoes. I used vegetable spray on the plate, put the potatoes on, then sprayed the potatoes (evenly). I also salted them before cooking. I found if I salted them after, the salt didn't stick very well. It took about 7-8 minutes to finish a batch. Also, instead of using one plate, I used two. I put a small glass in the center of the bottom plate, and put a plate on top the glass as well: double the potatoes in the same amount of time. However the potatoes on the top plate seemed to finish about a minute faster than the bottom ones, so make sure you watch for that. Also, if the potatoes are sliced super thin, it is really easy to burn them, so make sure you can't see through the potato. Cut it as thin as you can, while still allowing it to remain rigid, and not flimsy if you were to pick it up. Mine turned out great, and I can't wait to share them with my co-workers and boyfriend.

Candied Yams

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
This recipe was really great. I took the advice of other reviews, and drained the sweet potatos, mashed them up a bit and added cinnamon. My boyfriend and I finished the entire dish the night I made it.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
This was ok. It wasn't thick like regular chili. There was too much of a tomato taste. However after it sat a day or two in the fridge the flavor really came out. I added curry and tumeric, and that gave it enough kick, but not so much that I wouldn't eat it (I am not a huge fan of kick). I would look for another recipe before I tried to modify this to make it a thicker, less tomato tasting "chili."

Ground Turkey Noodle Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
I used the suggestions of the other reviewers, and this was still a bit on the bland side. I may try it one more time, but use some peppers, more cream cheese, and garlic salt rather than minced garlic. That may help it out.

Tofu Parmigiana

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
I never had a tofu dish before but was curious to try this because of the great reviews. Next time I will try baking the tofu a bit then frying since I want a firmer texture, and had a bit of a difficult time keeping the breadcrumb mixture on the tofu during frying...check out the "Most Helpful" reviews to get the ' tweaked' directions.

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2006
This was great. I seasoned each filet as if the ingredients were written for one filet, instead of splitting the ingredients between the 4 filets and it turned out wonderfully. I did add a little bit of garlic salt to each, though. Very tasty! Will add to my normal meal set.
