About this Cook
First-time mom of a beautiful baby boy born in October 2005, happily married since June 2004. The oldest of 4 siblings, I've been cooking and baking since I was a child. For me, cooking is a way to accomplish something - when a recipe turns out well, I feel really good!
My favorite things to cook
~ Chicken dishes ~ Desserts ~ Mexican food - so good! Neither my husband or I are very adventurous with our tastes, but I do enjoy trying new recipes that add a twist to the basics.
My cooking triumphs
Hmmmm... if its edible, I consider it a triumph so the majority of my meals are good. Off the top of my head, I make a really good Chicken Stew and I was super excited the first time I made a successful pie crust and pizza dough from scratch!
My cooking tragedies
The first 'from scratch' chicken noodle soup I made was a disaster! It had no taste at all.

Almond Mandarin Salad
I made this as part of our Valentine's Dinner and my husband loved it! I'll be making it for a family potluck this weekend. I substituted celery flakes for the celery salt. Also, I didn't have hot dry mustard (and my grocery store didn't carry it...) so I used regular dry mustard and added a dash each of crushed cayenne pepper and chili spice instead. I also added some fresh raspberries with the mandarins. So good and so easy! The salad looked deliciously beautiful and tasted even better!!!
