Slow Cooker Thai Pork with Peppers

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2013
This was my first time using peanut butter in a savory dish & I discovered that I don't care for it at all(not the fault of the recipe, just my personal taste). That being said, I'm reviewing this on the other family member's opinions. No one was overwhelmed w/this. They thought it could use for heat(spice) &, oddly, the pork didn't absorb a lot of the flavor. I WILL say that it was easy to throw together & the meat shredded itself as I stirred.

Vanilla French Toast

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2013
REALLY heavy vanilla taste which, surprisingly, bothered us. It made a good Sunday morning breakfast but I probably won't make it again.

My Asparagus Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2013
I omitted the ham because I was using this as a side dish, & halved the soup & cheese, plus I mixed everything together, rather than layering(topped w/the fried onions). It was VERY good! It does remind me of green bean casserole, but has more of the asparagus flavor & texture.

Corn, Sausage and Pepper Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2013
We really loved this! I played w/the amounts of some of the ingredients & added chopped carrots & celery(& used polish sausage) because I'm trying to empty my fridge, plus I was feeding 20 people. Unbelievably good! We loved the cumin!

Huli Huli Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
Made this for Recipe Group the week of 4/6/13. This was just "ok" for me. Actually, I took 1 bite & made myself eggs instead but my daughter liked it. The soy sauce was overpowering & even tho I used a low sodium soy, it was still too salty. There are MANY recipes on here w/a very similar taste profile & this one just flopped for me. The sauce is also a muddy brown, extremely unappetizing looking. I'm sorry :(

Thai Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2013
HUGE hit here! My first time using peanuts in a chicken dish. Wow. Unbelievably good! It could use a bit more heat(did I just say that?!) but really a very good, kid friendly meal.

Thousand Island Dressing I

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2013
Didn't taste anything like any Thousand Island I've ever had(neither the sweet store bought stuff or the thick creamy restaurant style).

Ok in a pinch. I'm on the hunt for a creamy, restaurant style thousand island & this just wasn't it.

Sweet Baby Carrots

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
These were a hit on our Easter table! They do remind me a lot of candied sweet potatoes. I used 1/2 the butter & it was still too much for just the 1 bag of baby carrots. I can see why the submitter would use it to dip bread or rolls in, tho!!

Creamy Veggie Potato Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
Very good altho a little heavy on the pepper. I was surprised that it had as much flavor as it did since it doesn't use broth. It would be good w/ham also!

Pork Chop Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2013
This was a hit w/my youngest son & husband!! I used 6 boneless chops & they fit perfectly in the pan. It was very tasty! The only change I would make is to leave the additional salt out, the seasoning salt on the chops & the salt within the canned soup was more than enough for us. This will be a repeat!!

Spaghetti Sauce with Ground Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2013
This was ok...not great, just average. It's a bit too tomato-y for our taste but it was a nice thick sauce, which we like.

Christmas Green Chile Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2013
I added about 2 Tbl chopped red peppers. I actually used a 7x10 baking dish & the butter was boiling up over the pan all over my oven :( I ended up taking it out & draining some of the butter off & it was still VERY greasy & salty to eat. The outer edges got super crispy brown while the inside was still very loose. Baking time was off, temp just not right. Just not impressed w/this version at all(original version is a Taste of Home recipe called "Southwestern Egg Casserole).

Messy Burgers

These didn't have much flavor. Def needs some salt & pepper. Have regular burger condiments handy. These were ok but nothing I would make again.

Tasty Baked Mac n Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2013
This mac & cheese is incredible! You have no idea what a pain it is for me to make mac & cheese here....2-3 different kinds to make everyone happy. This one pleased everyone! Yay! The only issue I had was the amount of butter. I, literally, poured 1/2c of butter off when it came out of the oven. I'm going to try halving the butter next time. That's the only thing holding this back from being a 5 star recipe for me. Yum! Thank you!!! EDIT: I now make this on a regular basis & use 1 stick of butter only. To us, it's perfection!!

Quick and Easy Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
Wow! Let me start out by saying that I haven't found an enchilada recipe, white or red, that I like. Most are so incredibly bland & boring(even w/tweaking) & just not my thing. I loved this so much I ended up having seconds! I skipped the charring & added cheddar w/the monterey jack. I also followed some other reviewers & added a bit of taco seasoning w/the chicken mixture & mixed the chicken & sour cream together. I cut my tortillas smaller & only ended up using 2/3 of them. Doubled the recipe into 2 9x13 pans so we could have leftovers & I'm sooooo glad I did that!! Thank you!!!

Tasty Lentil Tacos

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
I was very skeptical cuz I'm a meat eater but these are absolutely fantastic! I tripled the recipe in order to use up a whole bag of lentils. They cooked perfectly & were a big hit with us, even my picky son who chose to eat these over regular taco meat at our taco bar. Thank you!

Slammin' Salmon

So unbelievably moist & flavorful! Absolutely LOVED it!!! I used Evoo in place of the peanut oil, halved the red pepper flakes, black pepper, & oil. Absolute perfection for our tastes! Thank you!!
