The Munroe Melt

Absolutely LOVED these!! If you follow the order of the ingredients, as given in the directions you should have no issues w/soggy bread from tomatoes. The sammies are under the broiler for maybe 2-3 min max(at least under my broiler). Just wonderful!!

Hidden Veggie Meatloaf

I'm so sorry but we didn't like this at all :( I know there are thousands of variations of meatloaf out there & everyone likes something different...this was just inedible for us. I used all ground beef cuz we don't care for ground turkey & a mix of red & green peppers instead of all green. No other changes, just didn't care for the flavor, or lack of. Just not our kind of meatloaf.

Spinach and Bacon Quiche

This is fabulous! I left out the bacon & added red bell peppers & chopped mushrooms. There was just over 1/4c of egg/cream mixture left so I'll reduce that next time, either w/the cream or by 1 egg. So good I'm making another less than a week later :)

This was soooo good! I used cream of mushroom soup & Velveeta in place of the cream of chicken & Cheez Wiz. We'll def be having this again. YUM!

Cauliflower Au Gratin

Unbelievably AMAZING! One tip: make sure your cauliflower is completely drained. I was in a hurry & didn't drain mine enough & the end result was runny, like a thick soup. No matter...it was still fabulous!!!! I just can't rave enough! Thanks, Sarah!!

The hashbrowns didn't crisp for me but the finished product did come out for the most part(I lost 2 due to them falling apart). Overall, not very impressed.

Quick Mini Quiches

Good but we didn't care for the basil. The phyllo cups hold VERY little. I ended up w/a huge mess but was able to peel enough cups off the baking sheets for the function I made these for.

Coconut Sour Cream Pound Cake

I thought this baked up sooo beautifully, instructions were very well written, but I did not care for the coconut extract & I had to add an additional 40 MINUTES to the baking time??!! Not kidding at all....40 min. It smelled like suntan oil in my kitchen while baking & I couldn't get past that sentiment while eating it. I would've preferred to get the coconut flavor from shredded coconut itself. That being said, I took it to a family get-together & got positive comments on it. This was a really hard one for me to rate. I'd give it 10+ stars for appearance & texture.

Spiced Buttermilk Pound Cake

LOVE, love, love the flavor of this! The texture was more like a quick bread for me, tho. Possibly I did something wrong in the mixing? This was my first attempt at a pound cake. Regardless, it was awesome!!

Buttermilk Pancakes with Vanilla and Nutmeg

These were okay. My kiddos wouldn't eat them. I think I'll leave the vanilla & nutmeg for french toast, just didn't work for pancakes(for us).

Wedding Gift Spaghetti Sauce

Just finished dinner & this sauce IS awesome! I'm not a fan of rosemary but decided to make it as written the first time(but I did sub all ground beef instead 1/2 beef, 1/2 sausage). I'd halve it(rosemary) next time. It's pretty prominent. Totally my preference, tho!

These made a perfect summer meal! The instructions were great & I cut them in fourth & served them on their sides w/fancy toothpicks, just like the restaurants do. Absolutely perfect!! Thanks for a keeper!!

Chef John's Quiche Lorraine

The good points-the flavor combo is good, the layering & ladling made for a perfect distribution of ingredients, & it looked very pretty(fitting PERFECTLY into the crust, too). The bad points-my crisp cooked bacon ended up chewy. The texture of the quiche is way too soft for me, I actually gagged on my 2nd bite, this after letting it rest 2 hrs out of the oven. The next day it's a little more firm but still too mushy for my taste. IDK, more eggs or less milk(or both)?? Sorry, Chef John. Not a hit here :(
