YES! Im a true Valley Girl. Born in Hollywood, lived in Van Nuys, CA. So they called me Sally from the Valley. Then moved to St. Louis, Mo and they called me Sally from the Alley. Now I reside in Phoenix, and Im Sally from the Valley again. I love to cook! My mom was a self-taught cook and had me enrolled in a Junior Gourmet program when I was 8. When somebody asks me "Have you read any good books lately?" My response is always some type of cookbook. I love them! I am a mom to one fantabulous girl. Thinking about going to Culinary School here in Phx. Just for fun, not for Top Chef.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta, BBQ, Salads and a variety of them.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a Gingerbread Throwdown Party every December for Mom's and their daughters/sons. I have everyone bring their own Gingerbread house kit and we all build houses together. UPDATE: Kids older and not know what to do next year. Name will stay the same but I need the activities to change just a bit.

When I can make something that tastes like it's Restaurant Quality!
My cooking tragedies
Bought a beef tenderloin that wasnt trimmed and tied and tried roasting it! It was raw inside. I learned the hard and expensive way how to prepare tenderloin!!!

The Best Steak Marinade
Well, the only thing better than this marinade was Kazoo's review! LOVED this! Family said its a keeper. I made a mistake by only marinating one steak in it...not ALL! Thanks SweetCravings! :) Try it folks you will LOVE IT!

Peach Cobbler I
I thought this so easy and tasted great! I used a smaller casserole dish 9x6 I believe. And I added some extra brown sugar to the 2 T of white sugar because I used 5 cups of peaches. Used 3 T of butter only. It was perfect!
