Sweet and Chunky Tomato Soup

Wonderful recipe! Gave me something to do with all the tomatoes in our back yard! I only made two changes--I added 1 1/2 c grilled corn (shaved off the cobb), and I used only one can of chicken stock. Very nice! The corn gave the soup a sweet crunch. I also grilled the tomatoes (to get the skin off) and bell peppers. It was a bit messy, but certainly came out great! Served this with Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread from this site--yummy!

Viennese Crescent Holiday Cookies

I have made these as Christmas gifts every year and everyone waits for them! My recipe is a bit different--I use almonds (very finely chopped), and 1/4 c regular sugar for the mix. (My recipe doesn't call for vanilla bean). I bake at a low temp (300) for about 30 minutes. The cookies should be rolled in powdered sugar twice--the first roll does absorb, but the second stays white and fluffy. I use a plastic bag in a bowl filled with the powdered sugar for easier rolling. My brother used to call these "fuzzy cookies". A great cookie no matter!

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

This is one of the best soups ever! I've made a second round and I even love it cold (brings out the dill). I don't bother with peeling the potatoes, and it comes out great. Excellent!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

My boyfriend made this great soup and I was impressed! Couldn't taste the beer the night we ate it, but when we reheated it the next day, the beer got stronger--and stronger over the week! I may suggest the chicken broth method next time! But it had great flavors--highly recommend!

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

This was a great find! Probably some of the best baked chicken I've ever had. The garlic does makes the house smell like an Italian kitchen, and the flavors were outstanding. I also added balsamic vinegar, a little less butter, and it was a great addition. I had leftover chicken and sauce--I skimmed off the chilled butter and the chicken was even better the next day! A REALLY great recipe!
