Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2013
I've made this cake a couple of years in a row for Easter. This past year a lady wanted to pay me to make her this cake (I declined but made her the cake anyway). I do not use raisins and instead of vegetable oil I use extra light virgin olive oil. I put it in a bundt pan and drizzle a simple cream cheese glaze over it. It is AMAZING!

Whiskey Marinade

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2013
I used this marinade on some rib eyes for dinner this evening and this was definitely a thumbs down from everyone. The taste was too sweet for us. We won't be using this one again.

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
I made this cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday and made it into cupcakes! I made a few changes according to some other reviews. I only used 1 cup of sugar and I used fresh strawberries. I also separated the egg yolks and egg whites and whipped the egg whites to add some fluffiness. This turned out FABULOUS! I screwed up on the frosting but the cake itself turned out great!

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
I made this frosting with half shortening and half butter, it was AWESOME! Although i put it on my son's chocolate birthday cake, i used a sheet cake recipe and the cake turned out kinda dry almost brownie like i don't think it went together the best, but everyone said it was good.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
I think this may be rather bland just as is. Here is what I did differently. I added celery, and red bell pepper for color. I made a homemade pie crust and pressed it into a 9" springform pan and baked it for 10 minutes. I also used 4 eggs and 1/4 c of heavy cream. Everything else was pretty much the same. It's a good base recipe though!

Kielbasa and Veggies

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
I was a bit skeptical about this recipes, I'll be honest. But I made it according to the recipe and it was actually very good and my hubby even said he likes it (he hardly ever admits that!) The only thing I would do is cut down on the butter...just a tad bit too much.

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
Oh my stars this was awesome!! I always read through the comments before i try a recipe so i tried a few tweaks! I didn't have a potato masher so i just took out some stalks of the broccoli and used my hand mixer and i also added a couple of potatoes and it turned out fantastic, nice and thick. I added some cheddar cheese just before serving and i also like to put some cheezit crackers in too!
