Thumbprint Cookies IV

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
Excellent recipe! I followed the other reviewers tips and added 1/4 C more flour and did not bother with rolling the dough balls in egg white. I let the dough chill in the fridge overnight. We like frosting for ours, so I made a quick glaze-type frosting with butter, powdered sugar, milk and food coloring. I used the rounded side of a melon baller to create the well in the center, so it would hold the frosting without running out the sides of the cookie. My husband has been asking for years, for me to make thumbprints and he LOVED these. Will definitely add these to my holiday cookie repetoire.

Original Homemade Italian Beef

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2011
Great recipe. I forgot to get it started before work and my husband ended up making it. Followed previous comments and used 2 packs of dressing mix. My husband also added a bottle of beer and about half a jar of mild banana pepper rings, half jar of the juice and a whole medium sliced onion. It turned out great. Will definitely be making this again! Hubby thinks it needs more spice so maybe we'll use the hot pepper rings next time.

Banana Nut Bread III

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
Wonderful recipe. I also added 1/2 t cinnamon per the other reviews. The batter was looking a little dry, so I added another egg too. Baked it for 60 minutes exactly and it's perfect. I used two 8 in. loaf pans.

Octoberfest German Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 8, 2010
Delicious! Not the way I grew up making potato salad with my mom, but I really like this recipe. I had no cider vinegar so I substituted 1/3 C rice wine vinegar, and it came out great!

Texas Sheet Cake V

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2007
This cake was awesome. I brought it for a Texas-themed cookout at work. Everyone was raving about it - there was none left! Very moist and rich, and an extremely easy to follow recipe.

Chile Colorado II

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
This recipe was a huge hit! I made it for my husband and parents around the holidays. Our grocery has a limited offering in the way of chilis, so I substituted with jalapenos, and it worked fine. While it made a lot, it was perfect to serve four people and have leftovers for lunch during the week. I've been recommending the recipe to all my co-workers who enjoy cooking.
