Best Chicken Salad Ever I

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2015
I loved the recipe but alas, I have to add chopped onion to everything. Always have Miracle Whip on hand, as well as golden raisens, relish, celery, apples and pecans so just had to take a couple of chicken breasts out of the freezer, cook them up and total heaven. Thank you so much.

Bill's Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2014
I've tried Maple, but we prefer the hot sausage. Brown the sausage with some grated onions, if you like them. Add the flour directly over the sausage and stir and brown the flour. It will mix up on the sausage and use the oil from the sausage as well. If you need more fat, add 1 T. of Olive oil and 1 T. butter. Pepper with fresh ground, quite heavily. Bake the biscuits, I always like to split them and butter, but some prefer them whole. While the biscuits are baking, add 2 to 3 cans of evaporated milk from the can and at least one can of water to keep it still thin enough to put on the gravy and not just globs. You can add salt at the table, if you really need it, and more black pepper or red sauce. Enjoy. Been making this forever.

Busy Day Ham Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
Overall a good casserole but I don't like condensed cheese soup so I made a cheese sauce with flour, butter, sauted onions and garlic, milk and cheddar cheese and used it instead. Also added kosher salt and freshly gound pepper to taste. Will make again.

Yummy Roll Ups

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
These are fantastic. We use crispy pickle spears and the flavored cream cheese. Very easy to make and even the children love to eat them.

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
Perfect comfort food. I remember eating this growing up in the 60's. Would never serve this except on mashed potatoes. If using chipped beef, toast is the best. I did as others and added onion and garlic to the beef while cooking. Thank you for the recipe.

New Orleans Corn Bisque with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
This was fantastic! I used turkey sausage, substituted Smart Balance in place of butter, frozen corn and 1% milk. Also added red pepper flakes and Tony's as others have. Excellant, thanks for sharing the recipe.

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
Made these tonight, added some of the jalapeno seeds and a tablespoon of Worschterschire sauce to the mix. Drained the sausage in a colander (hot/spicy) and blotted with paper towels. Cooked for 20 minutes without pre-cooking the jalapeno's. They were done in no time. I used baking rack in a baking pan with aluminum foil in the bottom to catch drips. They were fantastic. Didn't need to pre-cook the Jalapenos or anything. My husband says they are fantastic and thankfully I bought extra jalapenos' so we will have more tommorow.

Easter Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
I've been making this for years and it's much better if you brown the hashbrowns before layering in the bottom, gives it a much better flavor. Also saute the vegetables before using as well. Thanks for sharing.

Ham Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2010
I made this on Tuesday night and we ate it tonight. Very good! I only used 1 T Rosemary and I added 1 T Thyme. Put 1/2 of the Chowder in a large bowl and used my immersion blender on it, then added back to the pot. Loved the way it had chunks and thickness. Didn't add the bacon until closer to serving, added 1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese and diced green onions when I added the cream. As others have done I shredded the carrots and cooked with the onions, kale and garlic. My husband and I loved this. Will freeze the rest. Made a huge pot.

Danish Kringle

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
Excellant recipe, I was able to get three Kringles out of the recipe, next time I will put it in the refrigerator more like a log than a ball. Would make it easier to cut in thirds. I should have reread Wendy's suggestion of just dotting the butter, only used 1 stick 1/2 cup and had burnt butter all over. Thankfully I had used parchment paper, sprayed pan lightly with vegetable spray, laid down the paper and sprayed the top with more vegetable spray. Clean up was a breaze. Made two with the brown sugar, butter & walnuts and the third one I dotted cream cheese and strawberry pie filling, both were good. Thank you for the recipe.
