BBQ Chicken Pizza II

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
I love this its one of my favourites I sometimes leave out the crust and just make it on the flat round turkish style bread under the broiler and roll it up yum! I like to add pineapple too, for me it complements it well

Fava Bean Breakfast Spread

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2006
very good recipe quite authentic, I make these myself and also buy the ready seasoned tins. If the smell bothers you then it might be best if you cook the beans yourself instead od using tinned, as its not so strong that way. My family love to have this for breakfast and it really sets you up for the day, but you forgot the traditional topping...chopped boiled eggs.

Pineapple Carrot Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2006
I didnt feel like using the yogurt so did as sugessted and replaced with mayo and added a little vinegar....very quick and alot easier than coleslaw and I enjoyed it even more. Tastes good freshly made so dont have to worry about leaving it to sit and all that other stuff.

Barbeque Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2006
I really liked the flavour of this sauce, I didnt cover it so didnt have the problem of thin sauce however this works better with wings as they have the skin to keep them from drying out. I think marinading the meat would do it more justice. I didnt have brown sugar so used white and an extra tsp of molasses which added a nice colour.

Baked French Fries I

very nice with alot of room for tinkering to your own tastes. I didnt have potatoes so put the mix onto some oven cook fries that I had in the freezer. You can add salt afterwards if you need it.

Caramel Frosting V

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2006
what a wonderful flavour. For those who had problems acheiving the right texture, you really have to be patient with this one and cool it properly. If you don't you end up with a caramel glaze and not the creamy delicious frosting you should have. If you have to, after its cooled on counter top put it in the fridge for approx 15mins or until you see it forming a very light skin on th top then start mixing. 10/10

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2006
absolutely lovely, moist and very good banana flavour. I used a bit of brown sugar instead of all white but forgot to leave butter out overnight so was creaming for ages (hint* leave the butter out) I popped it in the microwave on very low setting for 1min and it was fine after that(another hint). I wanted a layer cake so put it into two pans and it was fine, I also had a little extra so made a few cupcakes. I topped it with a caramel frosting recipe I found on this site and I was sooooooo happy I did and so is my family . Thanks for sharing.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2006
I'm in UK so because we dont have these here I didnt know what to expect but saw the reviews and figured I had to try them and I'm sooooooo glad I did...some food just makes you wanna do the "Ooohhh this tastes good" dance and this is definetely one of them. I've had bad experience with cream of tartar before so followed advice of others and used lemon juice instead. I halved the recipe because I didnt have enough sugar.....boy do I wish I had more sugar!!!

Oven Brown Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2006
I changed this quite a bit but it made a great base, I would firstly reccomend cutting back on the salt maybe use garlic instead of using garlic salt. I added 1/2 cup of green lentils. I also brought stock to boiling point and soaked the rice and lentils for approx 20mins before actually cooking them. Then I added the butter covered it and put it in the microwave for 30mins I also stirred in caremelized onions at end...it was lovely...maybe i should submit a new recipe!!
