Cake Batter Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
Oh My Goodness Gracious. This is the easily the best ice cream I've ever made. It's creamy and easy and soooo delicious! The second time I tried using half and half in place of heavy cream and it turned out just as creamy and delicious, and less fat! (I know, it's ICE CREAM, but why not :P ) This recipe is infinitely versatile, you really could use any flavour of cake mix... or brownie mix, mmmm! I tried it with a cherry chip cake mix, and oh my, oh my! Thank you so much for this recipe!

Get-Well Custard

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
Really disappointed with this recipe. I was so looking forward to a bowl of warm velvety custard that took an hour to bake.... but I did not get it. Maybe it is my oven, but this took around two whopping hours to bake! The result was more eggy and curdly than I was expecting, and without the lemon zest I added, it would have been reeeally lacking in the taste department. I'm sad about this.

Whole White Wheat and Honey Chocolate Chip Cookies

Lovely cookie! I'm always looking for recipes that call for honey instead of sugar ,but I always have trouble finding cookies that do. These were delightful!

Oatmeal Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I am soooo impressed with these pancakes, they are delicious! I find that with most other oatmeal pancake recipes the batter becomes far too thick and difficult to form into thin pancakes. This recipe however was perfect; the batter was the perfect consistency and the pancakes turned out great. I tried substituting half the liquid with 7-up as I saw on a cooking show and it helped make them wonderfully fluffy! I will most definitely be making these again!

Honey Crunch Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
We loved these cookies, they were just delightful. I didn't have butterscotch chips so I used chopped dates( an unlikely substitution, but it was lovely!) I also added a box of vanilla pudding powder which added a nice flavor. The rice crispies did go a little hard, but I didn't mind that to be honest. I'm always looking for recipes that call for honey instead of refined sugar, and this recipe did not disappoint!

Old-Fashioned Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
Right after I made this pudding it looked and tasted great. I was planning on serving it the next day, however, and chilled it over night. The next day it had turned all liquidy, not a very appetizing pudding consistancy. I gave it four stars regarless, since it was great the first day!

Sweet Potato and Curried Red Lentil Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
Unusual and wonderful! I loved that it was vegetarian but my family is full of carnivores so I added some cubed left over chicken. I could eat the topping just on its own without the crust, it's just wonderful

Almond Cherry Biscotti

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
This is wonderful biscotti! Instead of candied cherries I used maraschino, and also added a few tablespoons of the cherry liquid. They turned out pink and lovely! Try drizzling with some white chocolate for a yummy finish!

Cinnamon Pear Frozen Yogurt

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
Absolutely wonderful! Lovely flavour, lovely texture. A little too sweet perhaps, but that may have been because of the pears that I used. I will most definately be making this again!
