Sweet Potato Bird Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
My cockatoo loves these and I love that I can customize them with whatever bird friendly food I've got on hand. I've made them with corn, peas, applesauce, granola, you name it! It makes a lot and is so much cheaper than nutriberries, plus I like knowing what is in it and that there's no preservatives. I microwave a ball for 10 seconds just to take the chill of the refrigerator off of it and my bird grabs for it as soon as it hits his cage.

Really, Really Good Dinners

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
This is a great international menu full of spice and flavor! I get so sick of bland, overly sweet menus designed for the kindergarten set. Not everything needs to taste like a happy meal. The falafel was my favorite of the menu. So much tastier than the boxed mix and super easy and quick to make! I'll never buy the boxed stuff again! For the enchiladas, the notes said to skip dipping the tortillas in the sauce but my tortillas cracked when I tried it. Dipping them in the hot sauce as directed made them pliable enough to roll without breaking. All in all, a good sample of various different cuisines!

Tofu Caesar Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
Way too much garlic for a Caesar dressing. Served it at a family reunion and only one person would have more than one bite. Maybe with a lot less garlic and Worcestishire and the addition of an anchovy, this could be more like what we were looking for in a Caesar dressing.

Vegetable Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2006
At first I followed the recipe exactly and I wasn't crazy about this soup. The salsa didn't seem to go with any of the vegetables I'd added. The next day I added a can of corn and a can of black beans and garnished with a dollop of fat free sour cream and it was okay, especially for a low cal soup. It's never going to be my favorite but I'd probably make it again with the same modifications and maybe cutting back on the carrots and celery some.

Curried Apple and Leek Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2006
This soup was just okay for me. After the curry, I couldn't taste the apples at all and could barely taste the leeks. If I made it again I'd cut the curry back to 1 teaspoon, add more apples, and substitute sweet onions for the leeks.
