Rolled Fondant

Reviewed: May 17, 2004
I'm not an expert, but this was a Fiasco!!! I followed the instructions step by step. The texture was good, so was the taste, but when I tried to roll it, it was imposible. It kept sticking to the top. I tried using powdered sugar to prevent the sticking, then it turn out too dry and it was not smooth anymore. Thank God I had some Wilton Brand on hand and was able to finish the cake. No problems whatsoever with the Wilton. :(

Mango Pudding (Flan de Mango)

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2002
Being a Flan lover, I had to try this recipe. The instructions are not very clear. You should prepare the pan were you are going to bake the flan (caramelized) and in the blender mix the rest of the ingredients. Pour the mix over caramelized pan and bake. It took a litle more than one hour, but is is worth it. It is delicious!!!

Merenges

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
When I saw Puertorican in the recipe I had to try it. I was not disappointed at all. These are exactly the same I use to eat at the bakery back home. They melt in your mouth. My only suggestion is that I left them in the oven with the oven off, until they cooled down. It helps in them to get completely dry before removing from oven. Thanks so much! :

Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2002
Before I made this recipe I read all the comments, so instead of using an 8x8 I used an 8x11 pan. The pudding was still moist but not watery. We loved it!!! The sauce was perfect, did not change a thing!! Thank you for sharing, this will be added to my favorites and it will be part of our family recipes.

Easy Ice Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2005
I added caramel ice cream topping and pecans between layers for a complete indulgement experience. Decorated the top layer with 3 cherries. It took two boxes of ice cream sandwiches to fill the two layers.(I had two sandwiches left over) I used Blue Bell brand. It was the talk of the party. Everyone wanted the recipe. They couldn't believe it was so simple. My kids are begging me to make it but this time just for home.

As previous reviews suggested, I cut sugar down to ½ cup. Perfect cup of creamy hot chocolate. My entire family enjoyed it during these cold winter days in Texas. It's a keeper. Thanks for sharing.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
I never thought I could make cinnamon rolls from scratch or add anything to this recipe that could make it better than it already was, well this recipe proved me wrong twice because not only did I made them, but I think I improve the taste by simply adding 1/4 tsp. of almond extract to the icing. It really gave it the final touch.

Chocolate Mousse Cake IV

Reviewed: May 22, 2007
This has become one of my signature cakes. Made it for an MDA Bake Sale Fundraiser at work and it sold for $490.00 Breaking all records. The person who won told me it was worth every bite of it. The only problem is that when they ask for the recipe is embarrasing to tell them how simple it is to make. I love this cake. Thanks so much for sharing!

Dirt Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
YUM!!! This is a family and friends favorite. You can cut down calories by omitting the cream cheese and butter. The taste and texture is still the same but a few less calories. If you use a clay pot it will absorb most of the moisture and it will not get soggy at all :)

Aunt Betty's French Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2003
After all the great reviews, I had to try this recipe. Much to my surprise was nothing of what I expected. Ii tasted like bar-b-q sauce. I'm giving it 3 stars because I did used it as a bar-b-q sauce later and it was pretty good.

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2006
OK I have made these so many times is not even funny. But my last batch hit the ball out of the park. Instead of cinnamon I used cayenne pepper for a twist and add them to my salad. Oh may GOD. They combination of sweet and hot was spectacular. I also follow previous revious and used a ziploc with the egg-wash and parchment paper to bake them. They are delish!!!

Fluffy White Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
I’ve making this recipe since I was a young girl. Is my favorite type of frosting. I never use the cream of tartar and it has never been an issue. Like other reviewers, I always add ½ tsp. of almond extract. I also add a piece of lime peel (aprox ¼) to the sugar/water mix and retrieve it before adding it to the egg whites. It helps to diminish the eggy taste.
