Grandma's Eggless, Butterless, Milkless Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
I hope I did something wrong (not sure what it was). This cake was dry, NOT chocolaty, and had a distinct baking soda after taste. I won't be making this again.

Mom's Goulash in the Microwave

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
I was really disappointed...my mom's was much better than this. I will be going back to that recipe. No one in my family really like this. It was OK...just not great.

Very yummy! Mine did not set up very well and was more of a thick sauce. Still..it was great!

Kids really liked it...but they LOVE ramen noodles. I thought it was good...but not outstanding. Will make again...for the kids :-)

Salmon Fillets with Creamy Dill

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
The taste was good (used dijon). But it was so oily that it was hard to get past the greasy taste. I might use the sauce as a dipping sauce next time....not cooked, so that the mayo does not break up under the heat.

Sour Cream Enchiladas

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
These were really, really good. I used leftover fried chicken and left out the sour cream (b/c I realized at the last second that I was out). Will make again. Hubby LOVED them!

Indonesian Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
Very yummy...but it tasted like beef jerky, which I thought was odd. Everyone ate it and said it was good...but no one raved. Not sure if I will make it again. (I used pork chops cut into cubes and marinated it for 2 days)

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
Wonderful! I used it only as a filling in a two layer chocolate cake. Everyone raved!

Boscobel Beach Ginger Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
Good cake. Thought that it did not have enough of a ginger kick. But it was moist and tasty.

Butterscotch Oatmeal

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
Good....but not for breakfast. WAY too sweet. It is more of a pudding. I thought that the egg left a slight, but noticeable, "eggy" taste that I did not like.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
Wow. These turned out perfect. I never realized brownies from scratch could be so easy. I will use this as my base for all the "fancy" brownies in the future (thinking caramel and nuts). The brownies were dense, moist, chewy, and uber chocolaty!! YUM!

Chicken Enchilada Soup II

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
This was very good. But I have another recipe for Chicken Enchilada soup that is better...I will go back to it. We always serve it over corn chips and top with shredded cheese and pico de gillo

Pierogi Casserole

This was gone in a second. It was really good...but not great. I would make it again...but with instant mashed potatoes for quicker prep.

Sukhothai Pad Thai

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
I am not sure how authentic this is...but it tasted great. I did not add the tofu and used lime juice instead of tmarind b/c I could not find any. Still great!

Very, very good. Even my husband who is not a huge fan of cake-type sweets liked it. I will make it again. Might be good with coconut mixed into the topping and.or batter.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
This was very good for pork roast. My family does not like pork roast, but we were given one. I would not make this again.... unless I am given another pork roast. I did double the sauce and added 1" cubed potatoes to the pot for 30 min. The potatoes were GREAT. With double the amount of sauce, I thought that there was just enough. The meat was good...kids ate it :-)

Elephant Ears

These were good. But I really found nothing "special" about them. They tasted like any other fried yeast dough... I will keep looking for something else.

Cornflake Waffles with Honey Sauce

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
These were great. What a difference the corn flakes make. I crushed mine into a powder. The only issue I had was that the waffles stuck to the waffle iron...not sure why (never happened before). Even my husband, who is not fond of breakfast foods, loved these!
