Shanghai Noodle Salad

I brought this to a work BBQ. Everyone enjoyed it and asked how to make it, I thought it was very, very good...just not great. Will be making again.

This took a *long* time to cook through..2 hrs or so. However--> it turned out GREAT!! Very moist end dense. My dad, the carrot cake connoisseur, declared it to be the best he has ever had in hi s 71 years. All he wants for Christmas is this cake. Wow.

Fudgy Chocolate Cream Pie

I pored the filling over a peanut butter cookie crust (I don;t like regular pie crust). Everyone raved about it! Nice and chocolaty. I cooked it in the microwave, removing it every 30 sec to stir until it was thick and bubbly.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Grilled Salmon I

Everyone loved this. The kids even said "this fish is yummy!" I let it marinate overnight in the fridge. Didn't use the oil (no need to with such a fatty fish).

Chocolate Sauerkraut Cake II

This was a very moist cake. The sauerkraut really does not impart a flavor, just the texture of "coconut." The cake itself is somewhat flat and chalky. If I were to use this idea in the future, I would add the sauerkraut to another cake base (e.g. box mix, cavity maker cake).

Chinese Roast Chicken with Gravy

Very good. I only used ~1T of oil...cannot stand an oil slick. I shredded the chicken in the "gravy" and served over rice. Everyone liked it.

Blooming Onion and Dipping Sauce

Tasted great but not really easy to make due to the size (unless you have a huge deep fryer). Would work better as onion rings. Te sauce was out-of-this -world!!!

Chinese Five Spice Spare Ribs

I was looking for a rib recipe that was not BBQ (and thus not as sugary). These were great. Kids loved them. Husband asked me to make them again less than a week later. I did nit marinate the ribs. Just cooked them in the sauce (plus 1/2 c water) in the crockpot on high for 6 hrs, then broiled them in the oven to crisp them up a bit. Wonderful!
