Papaya Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
I love this little appetizer that looks like it took all day to make. The only trick is to get a juicy papaya because otherwise the bruschetta can turn out a little dry.

Blueberry Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
This breakfast sweet was a hit at all the brunches I've brought it to. It's a little labor intensive to roll all the biscuits in cinnamon and sugar, but it's well worth the time. I have also substituted strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and peaches.

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
The soup was really flavorful and warming. I would have liked it to be a little spicier so I added some hot sauce.

Peppermint Patties

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
I made these one Christmas and now my family requests them every holiday! They a little difficult to dip in the chocolate unless they are really set, so be careful or they will fall apart.

Mom's Delicious Oyster Corn Bread Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
Although, the flavor of this dish was lovely, it was a little drier than I would have liked. I recommend adding some chicken stock or butter to make it a little more moist.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
I brought this recipe to an office Thanksgiving party and it was the big hit! I substitute extra turkey or chicken stock in place of the butter to make it a little lighter, but just as moist.

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
I love this recipe because it's easy to make, but it tastes just like the recipe at a high end restaurant I used to work at. To make it more of a meal, I add 1 lb. of shredded cooked chicken breast and serve it over riso pasta. I also use fat-free half and half instead of heavy cream to make it lighter.
