About this Cook
I've been happily married for almost 10 years now and neither of us have really cooked anything. After getting overly tired of Trader Joes freezer section something in my brain clicked last week and I googled for curry recipes, finding Allrecipes.com. I now visit everyday and make something new every night (at least since last week). New year, new leaf! Besides, we're seriously talking about having children now (don't tell our parents!) and frozen food just aint gonna cut it anymore. Sure hope I can keep it up!
My favorite things to cook
The less steps the better! Anything I can combine into one pot and simmer is a-ok with me!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mom used to make a killer meatloaf but my husband has gone vegitarian in the last couple years (I've only agreed to give up red meat) so the meatloaf days are over. I've considered making a turkey meat loaf but it's a lot of effort and food for only me to finish.
My cooking triumphs
Everyday I try something new, I consider a triumph. Have only seriously been trying to cook for a week now!
My cooking tragedies
Nothing major yet, but it's only been a week!

Tofu and Veggies in Peanut Sauce
This went over really well with my husband. I followed advice from previous reviews and cut the amount of peanut butter a little and also fried the tofu with ginger and garlic. I then steamed the broccoli with my rice so I didn't need to simmer everything together for very long.

Monterey Spaghetti
I followed advice from below, adding 4 cloves of garlic and baking it in the oven at 400 for 40 minutes. I also used egg noodles, fresh chopped baby spinach, and added chopped mushroons. It came out great!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
Better than I could have ever imagined! Would probably use less chocolate chips next time although my husband was not complaining!
