Egg Drop Soup (Better than Restaurant Quality!)

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
This was the best egg drop soup I have ever had and sooooooooo simple to make. My husband said he will never order egg drop soup in a restaurant ever again. I made the soup exactly as instructed (including the options). The only thing I did a smidgen different was add fresh chives and fresh cut green onions.

Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
This recipe is excellent. We loved it and so did our neighbors. We ended up eating it a few days later, so, I do not know if that made a difference. We used russet potatoes. The only change I made was that I did not "dice" all the potatoes, but made some chopped and some a little bigger just to get some consistency. My husband (who does not want the same meal too close together) asked me to make it again within two weeks (that says something right there.)

Excellent Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
This was the best broccoli cheese soup we have ever had. Before my husband even finished 1/2 of his first bowl, he said, "I hope you wrote this recipe down." I used only shredded sharp cheddar cheese and I added black pepper. We grow our own broccoli, so the home grown flavor does help. I have already made this three times and will continue to make it. This is a definite keeper.

Spicy Italian Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
This salad was a great "hit" with our neighbors and they have all asked me to make it again or give them the recipe. I made a few changes as suggested by previous reviews. I used olive oil instead of canola, added more veggies (and definitely more garlic), marinated the carrots and black olives with the artichokes, added gourmet mozzarella cut into bite size pieces and put more grated Romano cheese on top of the salad when serving. I wasn't too sure about "chopping" the lettuce, so, I just tore it into bite size pieces. I am making it again today (one week later) and will add more artichokes. This is definitely a recipe I will keep, but with the changes.

Best Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2006
We followed the recipe to the tee, except we browned the meat first which is definitely the way to go. We have had better results from other beef stroganoff recipes. We probably will not use this one again.

Cream of Cauliflower Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2006
I had only had Cream of Cauliflower soup once in my life about seven years ago in Scotland. It was so delicious and I bragged about it for years. Since we are growing fresh cauliflower in our garden, my husband suggested I try to make some. Not only was it simple, but out of this world. Should you happen to get ahold of some home grown cauliflower, that is definitely the way to go. Our neighbors said they've never had anything like it and bragged for hours. I don't cook with unsalted butter, so, I used salted which didn't seem to hurt it. I, too, used extra cauliflower and I did not use the cheese...didn't need it. :)
