Simple Scones
I loved this recipe. I make scones all of the time and take them to work. The idea of grating the butter is great (no pun intended) and I will use that for other recipes. I used buttermilk and 1/2 tsp cinnamon with the cinnamon chip scones. Then I had to make a second batch with chopped "candy melts" in orange and green for the grandkids. They loved em! I sprinkled orange or green sugar on top before baking. Just a note here - if you use the candy melts - for color and flavor - don't use the food processor to break them up - it does too good of a job. Just chop them coarsely with a chef knife. This is my new "go to" recipe for scones!!!

Chicken Noodle Casserole I
Oh No - out of Cream of mushroom soup so I used Cream of Chicken and Cream of Broccoli (which stinks in the can - but smelled wonderful when it came out of the oven), a can of mushrooms and half a bag of frozen veggies. Since I forgot to thaw out the chicken - duh... I used two cans of canned chicken breast from Costco! Cooked the whole wheat penne in vegetable broth. Wow! Easy peasy - and fantabulous! 1/4 cup butter was enough for the crackers on top and I added 1 tbsp or so of Parmesan cheese to the butter mix. Ohhhh laa laa - so good and I'm glad I found something to put that darn canned chicken in besides sandwiches! Dawne - this was the best chicken noodle casserole I have ever made with or without any modifications!!! Btw - the reason I love to read the reviews is because I get ideas to switch things up if I'm out of an ingredient! LOVED YOUR RECIPE!!! Loved the reviews! Thanks to all of you for putting your modifications as a side note!

The Best Bean and Ham Soup
This was great! I took a huge batch to work on a snowy day and everyone praised the cook and the recipe! (Plus we didn't have to leave for lunch). I didn't have vegetable juice so I just skipped it. But I plan on getting some small cans of V8 to keep on hand - just for the occasion. I don't know what the lemon juice does - and I questionned the Dijon mustard - but wowwie - it was smack dabbin good!
