About this Cook
I love eating good food that's freshly made and doesn't contain any whacky packaged stuff!
My favorite things to cook
I've been cooking since I was 11 and haven't stopped since! Back then, I mostly made fresh soups and ice cream. Now, I love making Asian and Indian soups, stews and curries. My husband and eldest daughter love fish so I'm trying to find good fish recipes that we can all enjoy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, my mum's cooking was always excellent, so much so, it was better than eating out. My Dad always cooks bacon and eggs served on my mum's wheaten bread on Christmas morning - a great tradition in our house. Now, my husband takes charge of the weekend fry-ups.
My cooking triumphs
It would have to be my lemon souffles and profiteroles, but I don't get as much time as I'd like to cook desserts anymore. Hopefully, that'll change as my two girls get a little older and want to learn how to cook.
My cooking tragedies
Leaving things in the top oven of the aga! Ah well, I love my aga and don't ever want to part with it so I'll put up with burning things now and again!

Sweet and Spicy Chocolate Cake
This chocolate cake is divine. It really does have chunks of dark chocolate and apricots like it says in the description! It was a little difficult to blend in the marzipan at the beginning and I had to crush it a bit with a fork but but once you added the eggs - it was much easier. It tasted even better on day two. Will be making again for Christmas!

Aussie Barbequed Boneless Leg of Lamb
We sliced it and served it in wraps with the sauce - delicious. I will make the sauce again for sure & use it with chicken or any other barbecued meat.

Rogan Josh, Lamb Shanks
I altered the recipe alot! I added 1 tsp chopped chillies, 1 tbsp of garam masala, an extra tin of tomatoes, fresh cherry tomatoes & I left out the carrots and mushrooms ( I just couldn't add them to a rogan josh!) I don't have a slow cooker so I browned the lamb shank & then added the sauce & veg - simmered it for 4 hours & the meat fell off the bone. I kept the potatoes large and it took this length of time to cook them perfectly. We enjoyed it with these changes.
