Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
I agree that if adding onions they need to be sauteed before placing in the mixture. I sprinkled some taco seasoning on top of the bean layer. I added black olives and the first time I used peach salsa..blech!! The next time I used homemade salsa because I love cilantro. It was really good. My diabetic Mom was thrilled to have this because she could eat a lot and not use as much insulin.

Belle's Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: May 1, 2010
I have been bread challenged my whole life. In fact this was my second attempt today to make these. Mine did not look like golf balls but they turned out perfect anyway. They were more shaped like hockey pucks. I used half wheat flour too and I am stoked for dinner tonight. Thanks so much!

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
Used Yukon Gold potatoes and this barely made it to the table. My kids were eating it out of the serving bowl with disposable tasting spoons. Did as others suggested and put into crock pot. Worked perfectly. Thank you

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
I added more ginger just because I love ginger, but my family said it was moister than my ex mother-in-laws. That was the best!! Thanks for the recipe. Gave one loaf to my future mother-in-law too.

Toffee Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2008
My Mom and Grandma made these for Christmas also. We used a giant Hershey bar for the chocolate and since we had a wonderful front porch, we would keep them out there and they would be nice and cold. Since I no longer have a front porch, I use the garage insead.

Cajun Seafood Pasta

Very creamy and very rich. I used a dash of garlic salt to make it feel more Italian. Otherwise, I liked the spices. I also used baby scallops. yummy

Popovers

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2006
I have been making popovers now for over 20 years. I thought that I might have a lead hand. When they popped they did not taste very good and when they did not pop so much, the flavor was good. This recipe is my very first success. I used popover pans that are non-stick and I never thought to butter the outside top of the pans but next time I will because that is how huge they ended up being. I cannot thank you enough. I also reduced the cooking time and put a dot of butter in the bottom of each tin. Wonderful

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
Very tasty. I added a bit of kitchen bouquet to the crock pot and since I love coffee, and work at Caribou, I got a double shot of espresso to use instead of regular coffee. mmmm. Thanks so much for the keeper
