Sweet Corn Tomalito

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
Yum yum yum! Just like Chevy's. I followed another review that suggested 90% power for 10 minutes in the microwave. Turned out perfectly fluffy and sweet. I will make this again for sure!

Cajun Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
This recipe is 4 stars without my changes... - Used about half as much heavy cream. Added more chicken stock instead. - Left out the Italian seasoning. Added 1-2 TBSP "Tony Chachere's original creole seasoning" and about 1 TBSP dried parsley instead. - Used red skinned potatoes, sliced, with skins left on, instead of russet potatoes. The creole seasoning MAKES this recipe! :)

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2012
SO tasty! I added red potatoes and chicken... it made for a delicious, hearty, stew. I also used plain yogurt instead of sour cream. I will definitely make this one again. Great with garlic bread!

Carrot Cupcakes with White Chocolate Cream Cheese Icing

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
I made these for someone's birthday at work and everyone raved about them. They were very moist and delicious, and the frosting was a nice touch (although I couldn't taste the white chocolate much, the orange extract really added some pizazz!). Personally, I'm not really a fan of carrot cake, but these cupcakes were amazing! I will be making this recipe again.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
Very tasty muffins! I followed the recipe, except I baked them less because I made mini muffins! I brought these to work and everyone loved them. They have a nice chocolaty flavor and are very soft. These muffins would be out of this world if they had some kind of streusal topping to add a little crunch on top. I will be using this recipe again!

Honeybee Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
I was kind of disappointed with this recipe. Although my cookies turned out a little flatter than I would have hoped, that wasn't the problem. I followed the recipe exactly but found that these cookies lacked flavor. They would be better with vanilla or nuts added in, or maybe a glaze on top. They had a nice consistency, but all I could taste was sweetness, not honey or cinnamon. This recipe has potential but definitely needs improvement.

Gluten-Free Fudge Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2010
Pretty darn tasty! I made these in a bigger pan, as suggested. I also didn't have enough cornstarch, so I used 1/4 cup cornstarch and 1/4 cup arrowroot. I also added a dash of salt and vanilla. And I melted the butter (I'm not a fan of margarine) on the stove with the sugars before mixing it all together, to help with graininess. These brownies are easy to make and have an excellent texture! I will definitely make these next time I have a chocolate craving.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
I've made these blondies at least 5 times in the last 2 weeks, due to requests from my coworkers. Very delicious, but beware because they are very sweet! When I make mine I replace the chocolate chips with white chocolate or butterscotch chips, and I mix them in rather than sprinkling on top. Will make again!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
Very tasty and versatile cream cheese frosting. I, like many other reviewers, added an extra cup of sugar, which made this frosting perfect. I used this with the "moist, tender spice cake" and it was a hit! will use again

Moist, Tender Spice Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
Very tasty, traditional style spice cake. It isn't super sweet, so keep that in mind. I made a 4 layer cake with this and cream cheese frosting, and everyone raved about it. I also made cupcakes (made almost 3 dozen) and they were very good as well. The only thing I don't like about this cake is the mixing method... even with my rad kitchen aid, it had lots of flour and brown sugar lumps both times. Next time I will use the creaming method and see how that works out.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
Although these brownies are not the "best brownies" I've ever had they are pretty good, and so easy to make! I made these with out the frosting a few times and they were a hit! I made a double batch once and they were a bit salty, so I would recommend only using the regular amount of salt if you double it. Will make again.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
Finally! A gluten-free cookie that doesn't taste like cardboard! You def need a glass of milk with these babies though! I followed the advice of others and used 1/4 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar instead of just white. I also added some vanilla extract. And doubled the recipe. I'll be making these again and again!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Best oatmeal cookies! yum! I used all butter instead of shortening, and made half the batch with no raisins and the other half with dried cherries and walnuts. Both were very tasty!

Oatmeal Grapefruit Quick Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
I used whole wheat flour instead of regular, and added a little extra honey. This bread is ok, but nothing special. Its has potential, but it definitely missing something... I just don't know what. It seems a bit dry and I'm sure a little applesauce would help. Might dry this one again, with a little experimentation.

Slightly Spicy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Much MUCH too thin... too thin to get off the pan and keep together. I'm sure they would have been great otherwise. next time I'll add more flour.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Very soft and tasty! I ended up adding 2 tablespoons of extra water. These pretzels are delicious! We ate them warm with velveeta cheese. YUM! Next time I think I'll try to make them with wheat flour!

Asian Coconut Rice

Very subtle, tasty rice. It is missing something, though. Next time I think I will add a little more sugar and perhaps some coconut extract for a little extra flavor.
