Sweetheart Brownie Sundae

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2007
Good overall flavor, but the brownies were a little too chewy for my taste. Used cherry chocolate ice cream for the filling.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
I added taco seasoning to the meat, but otherwise prepared it as directed. The taste was definitely 5 stars, but the ease in serving was about 3 stars. I will make this again, but next time I will make it the day before, let it sit in the fridge overnight, and then cut it into slices and reheat it the next day. I thought it tasted even better the second day!

Cowboy Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
My husband loved this dish. I added garlic, extra barbecue sauce, about 1/2 cup, and cooked it all in a skillet before transferring to a baking dish and topped it with the biscuits and some cheddar cheese. I baked it at 350 for 15 minutes to get the biscuits nice and brown. Will definitely be making this recipe again!

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
Very cute and easy, just a little messy to put together. I used a decorating gun to pipe the cream cheese (I used alouette garlic and herb spread) into the olive. Tasted great, but were almost too cute to eat! Took me less than 30 minutes to assemble all the little guys. I recommend drying the olives before assembly, however.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
Awesome recipe. I made these for our Christmas get together this past weekend. Out of all the appetizers I served, this was the first one to go. To ease in preparation, I prepared all of these the week before and froze them individually on cookie sheets. After they were frozen I put them into freezer bags and stored them until I needed them. I took them straight from the freezer and put them on a cookie sheet, sprinkled with brown sugar and cooked them at 400o for about 30 minutes. They came out wonderfully and I will be making this recipe again! I still have some bacon wrapped smokies in the freezer!

Kolaches I

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2006
Just like my grandma used to make! I was trying to find her recipe but was unable to find it since she passed away. Thank you for this recipe. It has brought many happy memories to my family! I used apple, almond, mixed nut, and cherry fillings and then topped it with a powdered sugar icing. Very very good!

Spicy Pumpkin Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
This fudge never set up right, and I am an experienced fudge maker. It was more like pumpkin goo. The flavor was okay, but very sweet. I tasted more butterscotch than anything. I had a hard time tasting any pumpkin. I will be trying a different punpkin fudge recipe next time. Sorry!

Mexican Chicken Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
Very good! I did change it a little, I didn't have cumin so I used chili powder, and I didn't have half and half so I used milk. Still turned out fantastic. My family does not care for cooked tomatoes, so served the soup garnished with salsa and sour cream. Will definitely be making this again! I just need to buy some cumin first :)

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
Very yummy and very easy and fun to make! I am a peanut butter junkie, so I am always looking for new recipes. I decorated the tops of the cookies with Christmas colored sprinkles. They look very nice on my cookie tray. Will definitely be making again!

Caramel Peanut Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
This was really good! It was difficult to cut, but other than that fantastic. I read about everyone's trouble with the caramel layer, so here is what I did: I melted the caramels in the microwave with 2 tbsps of milk, stirring every 30 seconds to one minute. (It only takes about 2-3 minutes to melt them) and then spread them on top of the nut layer. I have had no problems with the layers sliding apart or the caramel oozing. I hope this helps!

Cherries and Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
This tastes wonderful, but is pretty soft. It stays together, just a little gooey. I followed the recipe exactly, and I am not sure why it stayed so gooey. I froze the fudge after cutting, hopefully when I serve it, it won't be quite as messy.

Monster Cookies VI

Fantastic recipe. My husband loved these. I had no problems with mixing and cookies stayed together nicely. I baked them on parchment paper and had no problem removing them to cooling racks. I will definitely be making these cookies again!

Baked Potato Soup III

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
Fantastic soup! The best thing is that you can add things to it to suit your tastes. I added celery, onion, and carrots. Everyone loved it. I served it with cheese and french fried onions on top. I had to send left overs home with everyone!

Grilled Flank Steak Sandwich

I didn't have flank steak, so I used this marinade with sirloin steak. My husband and his friends loved it! Very flavorful and tender. Will definitely be making again. Thanks!

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
Fantastic recipe. My mom swears it cured her cold. I only had 1/2 pound Italian sausage, so I added some chicken breast to make 1 lb of meat. I used garlic and spinach tortellini, very yummy! Thanks for a wonderful recipe, I will be making this often!

Honey Flaked Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
Okay, I tweaked it a bit, but it was still awesome! I added some garlic powder to the honey/milk mixture, but I love garlic, as does my husband. I add garlic to almost everything! I will definitely make this again. I flipped it with about 10 minutes to go, and it wasn't soggy at all. Thanks for a great recipe!

Priceless Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
I'd give this 10 stars if I could. Wonderful change from the usual pecan pie. You must make this in a deep dish pie plate, because there is a lot of filling. I also didn't follow the recipe exactly. I like how the pecan halves llok, so I did not chop them, also I poured them into the corn syrup mixture and stirred them up before pouring onto the cream cheese layer. From the top, looked like a regular pecan pie, but with a delightful surprise on the bottom. My family voted and wants me to only make this pecan pie from now on. Not as sweet as the traditional, but defintely good and rich. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

French Apple Cream Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
Wonderful twist on the everyday apple pie. I used my grandmother's home canned apple pie filling, and added nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon and some lemon zest to the cream mixture. I made two of these pies and both were demolished instantly!

Irish Cream Truffle Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
Absolutely, positively FANTASTIC fudge recipe. I did only semisweet chips for the bottom layer and white chocolate chips for the top layer. Covered the whole thing with red, white and green sprinkles for Christmas. Will definitely be adding this to my Christmas repertoire!
