About this Cook
I am a wife of 22 years and a mother of two great kids. my son is 22 and my daughter is 17 and a senior in high school. We live in the country and enjoy it very much. I love cooking and enjoy seeing the smile and hearing the hhhhmmmmmm this is so good! I come from a long line of very great cooks, from my Mother, grandmother, aunt sharon, and great grandmother. I like to think that I am a very versatile cooker and that cook just about anything.
My favorite things to cook
What are my favorite things to cook? Well I must say everything and anything really. I enjoy a challange, so if I had to pick one thing it would be something challanging, with lots of spices and step, the reward is what I'm looking for.
My favorite family cooking traditions
What I remember as a child is waking up thanksgiving morning and smelling my mom's turkey that had been cooking very slowly in the oven over night. Then watching the parades on tv and seeing my mom do her magic in the kitchen. The other tradition is seeing my great grandmother make her famous Cream Puffs. She only had one leg and she would spend hours in the kitchen making yummy treats for us kids.
My cooking triumphs
learning to get my cream gravy just right the first time without having to keep adding liquid to it.also making a roast that melts in your mouth!making fudge.I have tried several times to make it and would not set.I found a recipe(peanut butter fudge) on this website and it was perfect!
My cooking tragedies
well one time I made a key lime pie,and went to take a piece out for my father in law and it poored of the serving spatula.that was imbaresing specially when I'm famouse thru out the family of being the best cook, even over his mother(which isn't hard)lol.I had an image to up hold and didn't hold up to it that day!
