Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
Turned out just like the reviews said.... moist, dense and delicious. I didn't have buttermilk on hand but followed another reviewers suggestion for substituting two tablespoons of the milk with lemon juice. I served this with chilli and it was great!

Greek Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
I added 1/4 c extra vinegar for a bit more flavor. This recipe makes a ton.... I have made a couple of times and I always think it won't make enough... although it states only 4 servings this recipe is more than enough salad for 8 if not more.

Cucumber Sandwiches III

Made these for an office party and everyone gobbled them up. If you can use fresh dill over dried it makes a huge difference!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
This was a bit of work but very yummy. I made a few substitutions based on what was on hand. I could only find mild pork sausage at the store, had only 1 can of tomato paste and didn't have fennel or italian seasoning. As a sub for italian seasoning I added 1/4 tsp oregano, 1/4 tsp rosemary, 1/4 tsp thyme and crushed red pepper. It would have been even better with the italian sausage for an extra kick so next time I will definately add it. I made this the night before and popped into the oven the next evening and it turned out awesome! Thanks for the great recipe!

Jumbo Fluffy Walnut Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
I made these muffins without the topping and they turned out great. I made these both as jumbo and regular size and everyone thought the regular size turned out better... the smaller ones had a nice crusty outside with every bite.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
I halved the recipe and baked in a 9x13" pan for 18min. They were a bit gooey still in the middle and I would probably make for a couple minutes longer next time. But they were very easy to make and were a hit at work!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

This was a good basic sugar cookie recipe. I agree with other reviewers in that the taste was a little bland. Next time I will add confectioners suger.

Tuna Noodle Casserole II

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2007
I made just a few minor adjustments. I used wide egg noodles, added frozen peas, used about a cup of shredded cheddar cheese and instead of potato chips I crumbled ritz crackers on top. So easy to make and impossible to mess up. This recipe is comfort food at its best.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
I was craving pot pie and this did the trick. Only thing I changed from the recipe was added 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning and 1/4 tsp. garlic powder as other reviewers suggested. Next time I think I'll make extra sauce to pour over the top when serving.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: May 17, 2007
These turned out soooo good. I took other reviewers advice and added a 1sp. of vanilla and used 1/2 c. butter flavored shortening and 1/2 c. unsalted butter. They flattened out a little thinner than I like so next time I will try just the shortening as written. Thanks for the great recipe!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2007
This turned out amazing and everyone went back for seconds. I used a freshly grated parmesan, asiago and romano blend and wisked during the entire cooking time to avoid clumps. I also added grilled chicken to the final product. Next time I think I'll add some veggies (broccoli and mushrooms)for variety.

Easy Sausage Strata

I added mushrooms and onions w/ the sausage. This turned out great and was easy to make. It took just a bit longer to bake though in an 8x8 glass casserole dish for an hour and 10 minutes.

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
Very easy, quick and got rave reviews from everyone. I would agree w/ one reviewer that it could benefit from adding basil, oregano and garlic. Also it stuck like crazy to the pan so make sure to spray the pan w/ cooking spray prior to baking.
