Gnocchi I

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2014
Great Simple gnocchi recipe :). If you have the time, cook the potatoes in the oven (wrap in foil so they don't dry out). For adventurous people, jazz it up with some dried herbs like parsley or oregano. To make em fluffier, a add a teaspoon of baking powder.

Amazingly Succulent Roast Turkey Thighs

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2014
Great recipe! Hubby wanted turkey for Father's Day, I bought two turkey thighs and this fit the bill nicely :) I have cooked for many years and have to admit this was my first time using an oven bag. Turkey was wonderfully juicy and flavorful. As suggested by another reviewer, I opened the bag and switched the broil on for the last few minutes to crisp up the skin. Thanks :)

Quick Gnocchi

Fantastic recipe!! Took me from start to finish 30 minutes to make with left over sauce. We like our gnocchi on the lighter side so only used 3/4 cup flour

Marshmallow Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2014
My mom made these as a kid and I always loved the chewy texture... like Rice Krispies but with popcorn. I looked for years and years for her popcorn ball recipe, but came up empty handed... until now :) Thank you!!!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2014
This is my favorite taco seasoning - better than the packaged stuff. I ran out of onion powder one day - put fresh chopped onion in your meat while cooking to substitute. Works with fresh garlic as well if no garlic powder.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
Best recipe from scratch I have found yet. They're almost too thick so add a 1/4 c. water - other than that - they're perfect.

Pickled Onions

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2013
This is a great recipe. I loved it first time I made it - second time I used Apple Cider vinegar instead of the Red Wine vinegar... WAY better. Give it a try - you won't regret it!

Slow Cooked Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2013
I wish I could be honest and say that this recipe was made exactly as shown... I had every intention of doing so - but my boyfriend is notorious for adding things while my back was turned (since he knows I freak out on him when I catch him). He added 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar. Well it was FANTASTIC!!! I couldnt wait until I made it again (with him NOT around to to tamper with the recipe)PROPERLY to rate, so it's a definite 5 and a suggestion to try it :) Thank you for the yummy recipe!

Beautiful cookies! My kids stared at the dough in the fridge every other hour asking when we could bake the cookies. They baked up nice, and has a very lovely flavor. Not overbearing like most gingerbread recipes. My aunt who HATES gingerbread absolutely LOVED these!. Kids had a blast decorating :) Thank you Deborah!

Easy Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
This is an amazing pie crust as is for meat pies. When making a sweet pie, bump the sugar up to 2 - 3 tbsp and drop the salt to 1/4 tsp. Thanks!

Jenny's Grilled Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
Amazing. I threw it all together in a zip lock bag and marinated the chicken as it defrosted. I then made another batch of just the dry spice, husband added red pepper flakes, garlic powder and chili when my back was turned. well I sprinkled the spice on the chicken as it cooked on the foreman grill for 8 minutes. Amazing, tender and juicy. Thanks!

Dash's Donair

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
What a wonderful recipe!!! The first time I made it, I followed the recipe to the "T" , it was good, but lacking in depth flavor for our taste (I like a heavily spiced donair meat). So I made the following adjustments: 1 tsp salt (kept the same, perfect amount) 2.5 tsp oregano 1 tsp flour 1.5 tsp fresh cracked black pepper (fresh makes a huge difference in flavor) 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning 2.5 tsp garlic powder 2.5 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp cayenne In addition I added: 1 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp red pepper flakes The sauce is bang on! the first time I tried it, it was pretty watery. Don't be afraid to add a touch more vinegar... it's the vinegar that thickens the sauce - but as other reviewers have noted... don't stir too much after adding. Each batch ends up different, so add another 1/2 tsp of vinegar at a time stirring slowly until you get the consistency you like for the sauce. Thanks again Dash, we will never go out to buy a donair ever again!! OH BTW... the leftover meat is AMAZING for pizza. Make your favorite pizza dough, use the donair sauce instead of regular pizza sauce, layer on your thinly sliced donair meat, and add some shredded cheese.

Santa's Whiskers I

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
Great cookies! I have been using this recipe for years, - but there are a few tricks!!! Cream butter, sugar, add vanilla then milk. Stir well, add cherries and pecans (don’t stir until you add the dry ingredients)) Mix dry ingredients in another bowl… then add a bit at a time to the wet mixture while you stir. Once you add the last bit - knead the dough with your hands. If the dough doesn't stick well, add a tiny bit of milk at a time until you get a good form. Break balls in half… and roll into 3 inch logs, then roll the logs into the coconut (if you want a better coating of coconut… brush the outside of the dough logs lightly with milk before rolling). You can freeze this for a couple of hours - then slice and cook, but it's best sitting in the fridge over night. The tip to not get the coconut to burn, is to slice the cookies very thinly (approx 1/4 inch), and either line your cookie pans with silicon sheets or parchment paper. Keep an eye on the first batch until you know the desired time! Recipe says 375F… I say 350F! Check them at 10 minutes, then add a couple of minutes to that (if needed). You want the bottoms golden, not dark - and the cookie should still be a little moist… Leave them on the pan until they cool (they will finish cooking this way)

Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese

Fantastic! I made these for a potluck today and they went fast! I made 1/2 with blue cheese and 1/2 with goat cheese - and both were loved! Thank you! Oh! And my husband (aka Mr "I'll die before I let a nasty date pass my lips") was woofing them down last night before he had any idea what they were!!

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
I LOVE these. I first tried them and even though I followed instructions they had burnt - and tasted awful. I didn't make them again for a couple of months. But now to prevent them from burning, I place parchment paper on my cookie sheet and bake at 200F until dried out. They're super tasty!
