This was an easy recipe to prep the day before. In the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving I started buying stale loaves of herb bread from the grocery store's "Reduced for Quick Sale" rack. I stored the bread in the freezer and took them out 2 days ahead to thaw/dry out. I followed the recipe pretty well for the most part (I added chopped carrots for added veggies), and found the amount of broth to be just right for my mixture. I pretty much filled the entire crock pot with bread...then as it cooked midway through, I dumped the rest of the bread in (I had enough broth to ad-lib if I needed to). The stuffing tasted wonderful! It is moist, just like we like it. It went well with our turkey gravy. It is even better the day after (and after)! My husband says the flavors are better than the boxed stuffing. This is definitely a keeper in my family.

This was a great recipe. My father-in-law couldn't believe I was able to make his favorite snack the way he remembered it! The only thing I did not do is put in any cinnamon...otherwise I followed the recipe as written. I will definitely be making these again! Thanks for sharing!!!

This recipe is simple and delicious!! The only thing I changed was I increased the amount of mushrooms and used 24 oz. of baby bellas for one pack of dry dressing mix. It paired really well with the Schweinbraten Roast Pork recipe that I found on this site. Hubby loved it all!!
