Grandma's Secret Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2004
Don't do what I did and forget the water! I did, however go back and add the water after trying to roll it out and failing. This is a wonderfully forgiving crust. I use Smart Balance to help overcome the guilt of so much shortening!

Spumoni Squares

Pretty and easy, but, unfortunately, tasteless.

Easy Key Lime Pie I

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2003
I thought I had two cans of sweetened condensed milk, but alas, I did not. I filled the gap with whipped cream and no one was the wiser! We can get bottled key lime juice here in MI. Beats the heck out of squeezing all those little key limes... Definitely a keeper!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2002
I used to have a recipe like this, but always fried the tortillas first. Not only is it easier to cut, but it adds a different flavor dimension.

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2002
This is the perfect thing to make and give to bus drivers or as a hostess gift in a cute package. I used pecans because they were on sale. I'm sure they tasted very good, because my family devoured them before I could even grab a sample!

Easy Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2002
I will only make the cake for company, or else my hubby and I will eat it all ourselves! I did 1/2 cup of oil and 3/4 cup of water. It just seemed so wrong to use that much oil! The mini chocolate chips were perfect. This is a must try!

Cherry Tomatoes Filled with Goat Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2001
This ROCKS! I'm lazy, so I just bought basil goat cheese and stuffed it in. These disappear so fast! We have a bumper crop of cherry tomatoes this year, so everyone gets to try these!

Baked Potato Salad I

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2001
This is really good, BUT...I cooked the onions first, used cheddar cheese, and didn't bake the olives. Served them on the side with sour cream and chives, instead. The recipe just got invited to another party... :)

Garlic Herb Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2001
Don't cook this for 1 hour unattended!! A typical 1 - 1 1/2 pound tenderloin is done in 20 minutes, and since a 3 pound roast will tend to be longer rather than thicker, you'll need to keep an eye on it and a meat thermometer in it! Make sure to pull it off 10 degrees before it's cooked, and let it sit for 10 minutes to stay juicy.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2001
This was really nice. The salsa goes really well over ice cream, too. My kids didn't like the salsa, but they loved the chips. This is a nice thing to bring to a gathering, it looks like you really made an effort!
