Hearty Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
I pretty much followed the directions except I did indeed saute cubed red potatoes and switch up the seasoning. I added just your basic dash of nutmeg to the sauce along with a bit of cayenne and garlic powder. I also threw in some extra cheese b/c that's just the way I like it. Since the potatoes were already fully cooked after sauteing I only baked it for 15 minutes to get it all melty and delicious.

Smothered Mexican Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
Just wanted to say thanks for this easy, tasty recipe. I omitted the water but instead added 1 can of tomato sauce and spiced it up with a little tabasco for some kick. I also added a layer of refried beans on top of each tortilla layer per other user reviews. I also threw in some mexican shredded cheese... definitely worth making again =)

this recipe was great. i skipped the msg and since i don't have a grill so i placed it under the broiler at 525 about 6 inches away from the flame for approx 6/7 minutes per side. the family loved it.

Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
if i coulda licked the pot i would've! =P delicious and easy. i did use 3 jalapenos with seeds in them b/c after superbowl sunday a lot of chili items were out of stock but mmmmm. i also used 1Tbsp of cocoa powder and 1Tbsp of brown sugar instead of the packet of cocoa that i didn't have. I didn't even consider myself a chili fan but this definitely changed my mind.

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
this dish was amazing. the only thing i did differently was add a layer of spinach. i used a lil olive oil, garlic and onion, then cooked down the spinach, added a few cracks of pepper and salt and put it in between my layers. i did use panko italian seasoned bread crumbs and the results were delicious. the ones made by progressive.... yum. lol i'm still looking for other things to put them on. anyways i used one large eggplant and filled an 8x8 dish. and only baked for 15 minutes at the end plus a quick minute or so under the broiler to brown it up nicely. Once again, it was amazing. Ty for sharing!

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
the recipe as is tastes pretty good, but i did find that i needed to spice it up with a few more ingredients so i added some garlic and onion powder. it was fantastic. i do agree with other members that there was too much sausage for the amt of gravy. i'll cut that in half next time. ty for the great recipe though =D my family ate it up so fast i wondered if they were breathing okay.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
these were to die for. i was making them as a gift for someone but ended up eating a bunch myself. i subbed out white sugar for brown and added an extra egg yolk. it makes for really chewy cookies. i also used margarine instead of butter and added white chips as well as regular semi-sweet. they were absolutely perfect.

this was superb. i upped the curry powder by a tad, toasted it up in the pan a bit like others said and also used boneless skinless chicken thighs cut up into bits. we went back for seconds and unfortunately there wasn't thirds. i will be making this again! ty sooooo much.

Merwin's Shrimp Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
This recipe is fantastic. My mom who makes gumbo for special occasions has never shared her recipe with anyone so i set out to make my own and this dish may actually surpass it. It was also super easy to make. I did however use cut up boneless chicken thighs instead of chicken parts and i also added celery to it. Thank you sooo much!
