Holiday Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
I had high hopes for this based on all the positive reviews. A word of caution about the seasoned salt... maybe it's the brand I used (Lawrys) or the amount.. but it tastes horrible. All I can taste is the Lawrys. I won't be serving it at tomorrow's lunch. A big waste of ingredients. I might try it again without the seasoned salt.

Oatmeal Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Sorry, but this recipe is the only "dud" from my Thanksgiving dinner. I'm an experienced bread baker, too - but these things were bombs (not in the good sense)... they each weighed about a pound!

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
Totally delish! Amazing results... The only thing I did differently was to use extra toasted coconut in the filling and real whipped cream dolloped on top & sprinkles with the extra toasted coconut. I didn't have time to read the reviews before I made it today and I'm glad I didn't. I don't think this needs all that tinkering with the coconut milk, etc. Everyone loved it... thanks for sharing this keeper.

Oregon Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
We love these patties... but I make a couple small changes. First, my salmon doesn't have 3/4 cup of liquid. I've added water to make up the difference, but find that's too much, so I only add whatever liquid is in the can. The other thing I do differently is that I coat them with a mixture of panko crumbs mixed with Old Bay seasoning. This makes a crispy coating and the Old Bay gives it more flavor. Delish!

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2008
Fantastic! I made these with the only substitution being brown sugar for the white. I still used 3/4 cup, but didn't pack it. Definitely a keeper!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
Nothing was appealing to me at all (and I'm not exactly a pizza snob). The color was muddy, but the flavor was not good. The reason I'm giving it one star is because I couldn't find a high quality anchovy paste and had to settle for an inexpensive brand. Don't know if that's enough to make a huge difference.

Ken's Minestrone Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
My favorite minestrone recipe. The flavor is just right. The only thing I do differently is that instead of adding the water and bouillon - I use one of those tall boxes of chicken broth. Works for me - and I get lots of compliments with this.

Mom's Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
Everyone LOVES these - and I'm asked for them very often. The only change I make is doubling the amount of ginger. I like a good ginger zing! Yumm-o!

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
Great, easy recipe. AFter shredding the pork, I added about half a bottle of good CArolina style vinegar bbq sauce and put it back in the crock pot. Soooo delicious and couldn't be easier.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
These are perfect ... and very easy to put together. I use a good quality raspberry spread (with no sugar added) and everyone loves them. I've made it several time and will keep it as a favorite.
